Permian Basin Death Notices

   Saralee Jespersen
   ODESSA  --  Saralee  Jespersen,  66,  of  Odessa, a retired laboratory
   technician,  died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at Avalon Care Center after a
   short illness.
   Memorial  services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel
   with   the   Rev.   Jimmy   Braswell   officiating.   Arrangements  by
   Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
   She was born in Stockton, Calif.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Steve Jespersen of Odessa and William P. Jespersen of
   Ripon, Calif.; sisters, Betty Mae Bewley of Stockton, Calif., and Mary
   Ann Christianson of Carson City, Nev.; and two grandchildren.
   
   Itasca Hall
   ODESSA  --  Itasca Hall, 87, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, Dec.
   28, 1998, at New Horizon Nursing Home.
   Services  will  be  at  2  p.m. Wednesday at Greater St. James Baptist
   Church  with the Rev. Charles Sims officiating. Burial will be at Rose
   Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
   She was born in Hammond. She was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS:  Nieces,  Laverne  Love  of  Odessa,  Helen Brooks of Waco,
   Mildred  Andrew  of  Waxahachie,  Ruth Martin of California and Bessie
   Billups of Los Angeles; and nephew, Surry Carter of New Jersey.
   
   Ruth Putty
   ODESSA -- Ruth Putty, 65, of Odessa died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998, at her
   residence.
   Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Rose Hill Cemetery with
   the  Rev.  Jerry  Murphy officiating. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral
   Home.
   She  was  born  in Atoka, Okla., and had lived in Odessa for 30 years.
   She was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS:  Husband,  Donald Ray Putty of Odessa; son, Ricky Jay Smith
   of  Odessa;  daughters, Elaine Benham and Betty James, both of Odessa;
   six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
   
   Kathlyne McMillan
   KERMIT  --  Kathlyne  McMillan, 80, of Wink, a homemaker, died Sunday,
   Dec. 27, 1998, at her residence in Wink.
   Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Kermit Cemetery with
   the  Revs.  Charles  Hurst and Joe Mohler officiating. Arrangements by
   Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
   She  was  born  in  Yale,  Okla.,  and  moved to Wink in 1934. She was
   Baptist.
   SURVIVORS:  Sons,  Jerry McMillan, David McMillan and Donnie McMillan,
   all  of  Wink;  daughter,  Barbara  Cates of Purmela; brothers, Austin
   Freeman   of  Pampa,  Texas,  and  Worth  Freeman  of  Arvada,  Colo.;
   step-sister,  June  Burkett  of Lake Jackson; six grandchildren and 11
   great-grandchildren.
   
   Octaviano Vallejo
   VALENTINE  --  Octaviano  B.  Vallejo,  78,  of  El  Paso,  a  retired
   supervisor  of bridge building for the railroad, died Sunday, Dec. 27,
   1998, in a Midland hospital following a lengthy illness.
   Mass  will  be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic
   Church.  Rosary  will be said at 7 p.m. today at Sacred heart Catholic
   Church.  Burial  will  be  at  Sacred  Heart Cemetery. Arrangements by
   Memorial Funeral Home.
   He  was  born in Valentine and was a lifelong resident. He was an Army
   veteran of World War II. He was Catholic.
   SURVIVORS:  Wife,  Virginia  Vallejo  of Valentine; daughters, Yolanda
   Sanchez  of  Midland  and  Wanda  Stacey  of  Odessa; sisters, Estella
   Barraza  of  Valentine,  Elvira  Melendez  of  Alpine,  Ida Morales of
   Amarillo,  Consuelo  Ramirez  of Fort Stockton and Elidia Gomez of Van
   Horn; brother, Ben Vallejo of El Paso; and three grandchildren.
   
   Ruben Vizcarra
   MARFA  --  Ruben  J.  Vizcarra,  74, of El Paso, a retired employee of
   Pacific  States  Steel,  died  Saturday,  Dec. 26, 1998, at an El Paso
   hospital.
   Mass  will  be  celebrated at noon today at St. Mary's Catholic Church
   with  the  Rev.  Demeterio Ponce officiating. Burial will be at Merced
   Cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
   He  was born in Pecos and moved to El Paso one year ago from Marfa. He
   was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic.
   SURVIVORS:  Daughters,  Virginia Vizcarra-Tyler of Conneticut, Leticia
   Delgado,  Vanessa Foreman and Lila Giangrasso, all of California; son,
   Rafael  "Rocky"  Vizcarra of Washington; sisters, Elvira Koshmieder of
   California  and  Mary  Franco  of  El  Paso; brother, Fred Vizcarra of
   California; and several grandchildren.
