December 11, 1998 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Macario Romero Alvarado ODESSA -- Heaven's gates are open wide to welcome back Mr. Macario Romero `Mac' Alvarado after 74 years of service on our earth. Mac is now reunited with his beloved wife, Elvira Lopez Alvarado, who returned to Heaven in April of 1969. As per his wishes, Mac passed away at home on Dec. 9, 1998. Born in Midland on Feb. 29, 1924, to Sunshine and Clara Alvarado, Mac married Elvira Lopez of Midland in 1951 and moved to Odessa, where together they provided for eight children. Survivors include children, Yolanda Alvarado Gerber, Johnny Alvarado, Rosa Alvarado Thomas, Cynde Yvonne AIvarado Simons, Reuben Dennis Alvarado, Jaime Alvarado and Mario Alvarado, all of Odessa, and Odie Alvarado of Abilene; brothers, Jesse Alvarado of Odessa, Christino Alvarado of Dallas; sisters, Lupe Alvarado Reyes of Midland, Linda Alvarado Eagleton of Richardson and Olivia Alvarado Torres of Mexico City; two grandsons, Jeremy Mac Gerber and Christopher Macario Alvarado; four granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Gerber, Jody Lee Gerber, Ashley Marie Thomas and Casey Sue Simons; plus a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and acquaintances. Mac was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. There will be a rosary service at 7 p.m. Friday Dec. 11th at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, 1998, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Family Hospice, 618 Golder Ave. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Earl Douglas Danley ODESSA -- Services for Earl Douglas Danley, 70, of Odessa will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mr. Danley died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Florence, Ala. He married Ruth Parham Dec. 10, 1951, in Lubbock. Mr. Danley moved to Odessa in 1968 from Lubbock. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an M.P. for four years. He attended Harding College, Texas Tech and Abilene Christian University. He was a Church of Christ minister for more than 30 years, serving as a missionary to Copenhagen, Denmark. He served as minister to the Southside Church of Christ in Lubbock, the Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ and was currently an Elder there. Mr. Danley owned Bill Rogers Trucking Company from 1974 to 1984 and Danley Agency from 1985 to present. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather with a host of friends around the world. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ruth Danley of Odessa; son, Doug Danley and his wife, Karen, of Carrollton; daughter, Darla Patty and her husband, Sean, of Hobbs, N.M.; brothers, Everett Danley of Virginia, O.A. Danley Jr. of Florence, Ala., Ray Danley of Tennessee, Claude Danley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Etoyle Abston and Stella Masterson, both of Florence, Ala.; three grandchildren, Samuel Patty, Sam Luther and Molly and Jeffrey Young. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or Odessa Christian School.
