December 15, 1998 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- John Wesley Beasley, 90, of Odessa went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at his residence. He was born Nov. 6, 1908, in Jones County. He married Mabel Watts Nov. 27, 1926. They recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. John Wesley came to Odessa in 1952 from Anson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War ll and was Baptist. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1998, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery in Funston. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Beasley of Odessa; daughters, Patsy L. Rice of Abilene, Rosie Langston and her husband, Bill, of Odessa; grandchildren, David Rice and his wife, Leslie, Larry Rice and his wife, Cookie, Bobby Jack Langston and his wife, Doronna, Tandra Pomeroy and Paula Campbell and her husband, Ray; great-grandchildren, Rachel Rice, Magen Hicks, Amanda Langston, Jerod Langston, Jenifer Langston, Cimmaron Pomeroy, Warren Pomeroy and Crystal Campbell; son-in-law, Doug Rankin and his wife, Tammye; several nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters Doris Marie Beasley and Gearldine Rankin; and two grandchildren, Douglas Wayne, Rankin and Jerry Don Rankin. Funeral arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Mass for Urbano Hernandez, 61, of Odessa will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hernandez died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 25, 1937, in Ojinaga, Mexico, to Carlota Brito and Nacario Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez was self-employed. He moved to Odessa in 1993. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Edelmira Hernandez of Odessa; daughter, Jessica Mayte Ramirez of Odessa; sons, Luis Enrique Hernandez and Jesus Manuel Hernandez, both of Odessa and Elias Jordan of Presidio; brothers, Ruben Hernandez, Moises Hernandez, Adan Hernandez, Nacario Hernandez and Hector Javier Hernandez, all of Lovington, N.M.; sisters, Sara Olivas of Lovington, N.M., Elva Rodriguez of Odessa and Ester Ramirez of Las Cruces, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Nacario Hernandez; and his mother, Carlota Brito.
