December 28, 1998 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Wilmeth E. "Mutt" Fair, 77, of Odessa died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Jan. 26, 1921, in Lingleville, Texas, to Gabriel Patterson Fair and Ottie Virgie Wilcoxson. He graduated from Comyn High School in 1938. Wilmeth married Doris Eulala Notgrass July 20, 1946, in Stephenville. He came to Odessa in 1941 from Erath County. He served in the 740th Air Material Squadron of the U.S. Army in North Africa, Italy, France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received two Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Fair worked as a pumper for 39 years for Amoco Production. He was a member of Masonic Fellowship Lodge No. 1385 in Odessa. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, in the Chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Survivors include his wife, Doris Fair of Odessa; son, Terry Fair and his wife, Kathy of Houston; daughter, Paula Fair Edwards and her husband, Jimmy of Odessa; brother, J.H. Fair of Tow ; granddaughters, Kerri Sissney and her husband, Ronnie, Kristi Young and her husband Layne, and Kelli Edwards; and grandsons, Chris Fair, Dustin Fair and Cullen Fair.
