January 04, 1999 Permian Basin Death Notices James Murray ODESSA — James Philip Murray, 81, of Odessa, a retired Phillips Petroleum Co. mechanical maintenance foreman, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Revs. W.G. Huneycutt and Robert Bratcher officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cleburne cemetery. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. He was born in Saline County, Ill., and moved to Odessa in 1952. He was a World War II veteran. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Reba Murray of Odessa; daughter, Mary Murray Minton of Fort Worth; son, James Philip Murray of Lindenhurst, Ill.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Curtis Hagler PECOS — Curtis Hagler, 79, of Pecos, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Reeves County Hospital. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery in Pecos with the Rev. J.E. McCormick officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. He was born in Mineral Wells. He was an Army veteran and a member of First Christian Church. SURVIVORS: Wife, Claudine Hagler of Pecos; sons, Royce Cassell of Pecos and Ray Cassell of Abilene; daughter, Kathy Owens of San Angelo; brother, Ernest Hagler of Ardmore, Okla.; sister, Dee Smith of Robert Lee; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Billy Lowe ODESSA — Billy "Bill" Lowe, 68, of Odessa, a retired Odessa police officer and Ector County sheriff’s deputy, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. He was born in Brad. He was a Marine Corps veteran and a member of First Christian Church.
