He was born in Rockland Power, Idaho. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Peter Chernick SAN ANGELO — Peter Paul Chernick, 57, of Odessa, head of personnel for the Ector County Independent School District, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at his residence after an illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will be at Lawnhaven Cemetery. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home. He was born in Deerborn, Mich., and moved to Odessa in 1995 from San Angelo. He was a Navy veteran. George Cooper ODESSA — George Daniel "Pete" Cooper Sr., 56, of Garland, a retired porter, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev. William Tatum officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. He was born in Shiro, and moved to Garland 56 years ago from Coolidge. He was Baptist.
