                               Michael Carter
                                      
    ALTUS, Ark. — Michael R. Carter, 47, of Kermit, an operator for
     Pool Well Service, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, just north of Pyote.
                                      
      Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at
        Houston Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
                                      
    He was born in Roswell, N.M., and was a 30-year resident of Kermit.
                                      
    SURVIVORS: Wife, Donna Carter of Kermit; sons, Billy Carter of Coal
    Hill, Ark., Roger Carter of Kermit, Brian Carter of Blossom and Duke
    Carter of Hartman, Ark.; daughters, Cherise Smoot of Alexander City,
   Ala., Amanda Carter and Alice Carter, both of New Braunfels; brothers,
   Kenneth Carter of Clarksville, Ark., and Wayne Carter and Gene Carter,
   both of Coal Hill, Ark.; sister, Helen Burch of Clarksville, Ark.; and
                            seven grandchildren.
                                      
                               Henry Johnson
                                      
     OKMULGEE, Okla. — Henry Theodore Johnson, 90, a retired heavy
    construction worker, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, in Okmulgee, Okla.
                                      
   Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the chapel of Kelly Funeral Home.
    Burial will be at Okmulgee Cemetery. Arrangements by Kelley Funeral
                                   Home.
                                      
   He was born in Henryetta, Okla., and had lived in Okmulgee since 1969.
                              He was Baptist.
                                      
    SURVIVORS: Daughter, Frances Johnson of Midland; sons, Wayne Johnson
     of Odessa and James Johnson of La Grange; and four grandchildren.
                                      
                                Minnie King
                                      
     LAMESA — Minnie King, 95, of Big Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 7,
                          1999, at her residence.
                                      
    Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lamesa Memorial Park.
             Arrangements are by Richard W. Box Funeral Homes.
                                      
     She was born inWinston County, Miss., and had lived in West Texas
                        since 1924. She was Baptist.
                                      
    SURVIVORS: Daughter, Lanita Whitley of Big Lake; son, Boyce McNew of
        Eustace; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 18
                         great-great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Horace Rose
                                      
   MONOHANS — Horace Wayne Rose, 62, of Monahans, an operator in the
           oilfield, died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at his residence.
                                      
      Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Monahans Memorial
     Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by
                            Harkey Funeral Home.
                                      
                           He was born in Bunger.
                                      
      SURVIVORS: Son, Harold Rose of Odessa; daughters, Rosa Carter of
    Monahans and Linda Farmer of Graham; brother, Leroy Rose of Bunger;
   sisters, Betty Jean Tucker of Graham and Kathryn Hall of Dallas; eight
               grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
