Jones, 76, of Lubbock, owner of Jones Publishing, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at City of Lubbock Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James G. Nunn officiating. Arrangements by Sanders Funeral Home. She was born in Fort Worth and moved to Lubbock in 1927. She was Methodist. SURVIVORS: Sons, Ross Jones and Gene Jones, both of Lubbock, and Carl Jones of Dallas; sister, Ann French of Lubbock; brother, Don Leisure of St. Louis, Mo.; and one grandchild. Fred Mize LOCKNEY — Fred Lee Mize, 90, of Lockney, a retired railroad worker, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Crane Care Center in Crane. Services were Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Byard officiating. Burial was in Lockney Cemetery. Arrangements by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. He was born in Hermleigh, and moved to Floyd County in 1942 from Happy. He was Methodist. SURVIVORS: Brothers, A.J. Mize of Lubbock, Bobby J. Mize of Odessa and Pete Mize of Comanche; and sisters, Vera Ellison and Maggie Hilburn, both of Sweetwater. Carrie Blackmon NEWTON — Carrie Blackmon, 85, of Newton died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Shady Acres Nursing Home. Services will be at 6 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Brownwood. She was born in Maryneal and had lived in Newton for 15 years. SURVIVORS: Son, Jack Hood of Brownwood; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Wheeler Grant MARFA — Wheeler Grant, 92, of Irving, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Irving Nursing Center.
