January 22, 1999 Permian Basin Death Notices Charles Childers ODESSA — Charles Childers, 84, of Odessa, a retired certified public accountant, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ with Larry Roberts and Don Turksey officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. He was born in Compere Community. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Wife, Lovetta Childers of Odessa; son, Bob Childers of Odessa; daughter, Judy White of Grand Prairie; four grandchildren and five grandchildren. John Puckett LAMESA — John Paul Puckett, 73, of Odessa, a doctor, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Branon Funeral Home. He was born in Hartselle, Ala., and moved to Odessa in 1989. He was a Navy veteran. SURVIVORS: Wife, Modelle Puckett, of Alpine; son, John Paul Puckett Jr. of Horseshoe Bay, Joe Puckett of Hobbs, N.M., and Jim Tom Puckett of Lubbock; daughters, Libby Martin of Abilene, Lee Beaty of Lamesa and Holly Ulery of Austin; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Lola Westberry ODESSA — Lola Mae Westberry, 74, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Dunn St. Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Lewis and Gale Reeves officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Anson and moved to Odessa in 1980 from Midland. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Daughters, Lydia Cobb and Shirley Mae Brown of Odessa; sons, Jarry Lee Blair of Odessa and Donald Richard Blair of Waxahachie; brothers, Alfred Ray Hambrick of London, Ark., and Rodney Keith Hambrick of Chandler, Ariz.; sisters, Leola Elizabeth Crosson of Gustine, Dorthea Elaine Walters of Comanche, Mary Bernice Liverman of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Virginia Sue Dalton of London, Ark.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
