Porter, 86, of Olney, a retired oilfield worker and city employee, died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, in an Olney hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Lunn Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Greg Johnson and Max Burkhead officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery. Arrangements by Lunn Funeral Home. He was born in Wise County and lived in Olney most of his life. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Vesta Porter of Olney; son, Roger Earl Porter of Odessa; sister, Mildred Cook of Montello, Wis.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Joyce Morrison ODESSA — Joyce Morrison, 66, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999, in Odessa. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the David Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Austin. Burial will be in the Brite Cemetery in Lockhart. She was born in Caldwell County. She was Baptist. Maynard Bates BIG SPRING — Maynard Bates, 73, of Pecos, a retired oilfield pumper, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at a Big Spring hospital. Graveside services will be Wednesday in Talpa Cemetery in Coleman. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home. He was born in Hamlin and had lived in Pecos since 1953. He was Baptist and an Army veteran of World War II. Jerry Don Hughes BIG SPRING — Jerry Don Hughes, 63, of Big Spring, a welder and former owner of Hughes Welding and Muffler, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at a local hospital.
