April 24, 1999 Permian Basin Death Notices Alfonso Rico EL PASO — Alfonso P. Rico, 75, of Phoenix, a retired real estate agent, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Phoenix after a brief illness. Mass was celebrated at St. Pius Catholic Church. Burial was in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. He was born in Alpine. He was an Army veteran and was Catholic. SURVIVORS: Sons, Roy Rico of Wisconsin, Alfonso Rico Jr. of Austin and Robby Rico of El Paso; sisters, Elfida Torres, Ofelia Hinojos, Romelia Acosta, Socorro Cordova, all of Odessa, and Aurora Calderon of Dallas; brothers, Mariano Rico, Arturo Rico and Thomas Juarez, all of Odessa; and several grandchildren. Gertrude Cessna MIDLAND — Gertrude L. Cessna, 86, of Crane, a homemaker, died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyndel Lee officiating. Burial will be at Crane County Cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. She was born in Sumner, Ill., and had lived in Crane since 1962. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sonya Sparks-Grissom of Crane; sons, Larry Doyle Cessna of Bumpass, Va., Lawrence Ray Cessna of Conroe and Keith Alan Cessna of Austin; brother, Carson Taylor of New Albany, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Dwight Treeby ODESSA — Dwight Lowell Treeby, 89, of Odessa, a retired employee of Electrolux Vacuum Cleaners, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Norman Owens, Paul Thompson and Wayne Woody officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. He was born in Carpenter, S.D., and had lived in Odessa since 1975. He was a member of the Assembly of God church.
