May 9, 1999 Permian Basin Death Notices Maria De Jesus Navarrete MIDLAND — Maria De Jesus Navarrete, 74, of Midland, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at a hospital in Midland. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Art Flores officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Reyes-Garcia Chapel in Midland. Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home of Midland. She was born in Colonia El Pueblito Municipal Adama, Chihuahua, Mexico. She moved to Pecos in 1969, later moving to Midland in 1998. She was Catholic. SURVIVORS: Husband, Sixto Navarrete Sr. of Midland; sons, Sixto Navarrete Jr. of El Paso, Kiko Navarrete and Rene Navarrete, both of Midland, and Octavio Navarrete of South America, Filimon Navarrete of Odessa; daughters, Maria De Jesus and Emma Carrasco, both of Odessa, and Rosa Navarrete of Barstow; brother, Thomas Armendariz of Pecos; sisters, Socorro Castro, Agripina De La Rosa and Josephina Mendoza, all of Pueblito, Chihuahua; 27 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Monte G. LaFon KERMIT — Monte G. LaFon, 61, of Kermit, a retired heavy maintenance supervisor for El Paso Natural Gas, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Kermit with the Rev. J.R. Manning officiating. Burial will be in Kermit Cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home Inc. of Kermit. He was born in Wichita Falls and had lived in Kermit for 48 years. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, B. Patsy LaFon of Kermit; son, Tommy LaFon of Houston; daughter, Lee Ann Greene of Abilene; mother, Ruth LaFon of Odessa; and sister, Ronda Horan of Plano. Doris Gildon MONAHANS — Doris Gildon, 92, of Monahans, a homemaker, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at the Midland Skilled Nursing Facility. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Monahans Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Andress officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home. She was born in Redwater. She moved to Monahans in 1941. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Sons, Charles K. Gildon of Portland and M.
