September 4, 1999 Permian Basin Death Notices Emogene Chancey ODESSA — Emogene Chancey, 83, of Odessa, a pilot, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at her residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel Hill with the Rev. David Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Marfa Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Marfa, lived in Del Rio and returned to Odessa in 1998. SURVIVORS: Husband, Jim Chancey of Odessa; sons, Jay P. Chancey of Odessa and Terry William Chancey of Odessa; daughter, Andrea Green,of Odessa; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Ruth O. Cunningham FORT STOCKTON — Ruth O. Cunningham, 73, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1999, at Fort Stockton Nursing Center. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at East Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home. She was born in Doole and moved to Fort Stockton in 1964. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Husband, J.E. "Ed" Cunningham of Fort Stockton; son, Fred Cunningham of Austin; daughter, Mary Lou Hines of Mansfield; brother, Fred W. Whatley of Rankin; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Manuela Alvarez Mencha PRESIDO — Manuela Alvarez, 78, of Presidio, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in her home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Desert Hills Cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home in Marfa. She was born in Presidio. She was a Catholic.
