                              John Berthiaume
    ANDREWS — John F. Berthiaume, 66, of Andrews, a retired Unocal
    employee, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital
                            and Medical Center.
      Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Andrews North
     Cemetery with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Arrangements by
                            McNett Funeral Home.
   He was born in Turner Falls, Mass., and moved to Andrews in 1975 from
                         Midland. He was Catholic.
   SURVIVORS: Son, Brian Briggs of Missouri; sister, Virginia King of The
                               Villages, Fla.
                                      
                                Wilma Helms
      ODESSA — Wilma Jean Helms, 74, of Odessa, a homemaker, died
            Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
   Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Ector County Cemetery
     with the Rev. Curtis Welborn officiating. Arrangements by Frank W.
                         Wilson Funeral Directors.
   She was born in Little Rock, Ark., and moved to Odessa from Florida 25
                        years ago. She was Baptist.
    SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sheila Reed of Gardendale; three grandchildren;
                        and two great-grandchildren.
                                      
                              Candida Martinez
   PECOS — Candida Alvarez Martinez, 87, of Pecos, a homemaker, died
               Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Pecos Nursing Home.
   Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church
      with the Rev. Manuel Munoz officiating. Burial will be at Mount
          Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
   She was born in Brogado and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. She was
                                 Catholic.
     SURVIVORS: Son, Jimmy Martinez of Pecos; daughters, Eva Flores of
   Pecos and Juanita Carrasco of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Alberto Matta
   and Alfredo Matta, both of Balmorhea, and Able Matta of Phoenix, Ariz.
                                      
                             Muriel Washington
       MONAHANS — Muriel Washington, 78, of Monahans, a retired
   housekeeper, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital
                            and Medical Center.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harkey Funeral Chapel with the
   Revs. Joseph Suiters and Johnny Howard officiating. Burial will be at
      Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
    She was born in Wallace and was a lifetime resident of Monahans. She
                               was Methodist.
   SURVIVORS: Stepmother, Cleo Washington of San Angelo; brothers, James
     Washington Jr. of Richland, Calif., and Bing Herbert Washington of
                             Chesterfield, S.C.
                                      
                               Harold Farnum
     ODESSA — Harold Lee Farnum Jr., 69, of Odessa, died Tuesday,
                Sept. 21, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
           Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
                                      
                                Mary Gryder
   PAMPA — Mary Frene Gryder, 84, of Pampa, died Tuesday, Sept. 21,
                  1999, at Pampa Regional Medical Center.
