                               Manuel Acosta
   MARFA — Manuel Lara Acosta, 77, a retired employee of Casner Auto
           Sales, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at an area hospital.
     Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Chapel with Victor
   Romero officiating. Burial will be at Merced Cemetery. Arrangements by
                           Memorial Funeral Home.
      He was born in Casa Piedra, Texas and was a longtime resident of
   Marfa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Jehovah’s
                                  Witness.
        SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Acosta of Marfa; son, Mario Acosta of
   Pflugerville; daughters, Amelia Chavez of Midland, Elida Ontiveroz of
     Monahans, Frances Rodriguez of Irving and Liza James of Marfa; 12
                 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Coy Gabbert
     CRANE — Coy Lynn Gabbert, 54, of Crane, died Tuesday, Oct. 5,
                          1999, at his residence.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Iraan Church of Christ with
    Mack Dever officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.
    He was born in Amherst, Texas. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam
               War. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
     SURVIVORS: Daughters, Joy Lynette McKillip of Portales, N.M., and
    Melissa Diane Gabbert of Littlefield; sister, Rita Rector of Iraan;
    brothers, R.L. Gabbert of Tucson, Ariz., and Doyle Eugene Gabbert of
                 Las Animas, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
                                      
                                Pablo Gomez
     ODESSA — Pablo Gomez, 78, of Midland, a retired farmer, died
       Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Memorial Hospital & Medical Center in
                                  Midland.
     Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Iglesia Bautista El Mesias
   with the Revs. Juan M. Gaona and Louis R. Tyler officiating. Graveside
       services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Ackerly Cemetery.
                 Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home.
                He was born in Karnes City. He was Baptist.
   SURVIVORS: Wife, Ramona Gomez of Midland; sons, Joe Gomez, Pablo Gomez
     II and Ricardo Gomez, all of Midland; daughters, Micaela Gomez and
    Juanita G. Flores, both of Midland, Maria Louisa Gomez of Robstown,
     Epifania Gomez of Odessa, Helen G. Maholly and Antonia G. Aguilar,
   both of Lamesa, Elda G. Zamora of Big Spring and Emily G. Rodriguez of
    San Angelo; sister, Delia Barron of Prosser, Wash.; brothers, Eddie
    Gomez of Ackerly and Lupe Gomez of Big Spring; 22 grandchildren; and
                          23 great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Cruz Marquez
     ARTESIA, N.M. — Cruz Cortez Marquez, 87, of Artesia, N.M., a
          homemaker, died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at her residence.
     Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace
     Catholic Church with the Rev. Vincent Petersen officiating. Rosary
     will be said at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
   Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Arrangements by Terpening &
                             Son Mortuary Inc.
                She was born in Presidio. She was Catholic.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Manuel Marquez and Fred Marquez, both of Albuquerque,
    N.M., Elijio Marquez and David Marquez, both of Longview; daughters,
     Luisa Olivas, Ophelia Marquez and Mary Estrada, all of Odessa, and
   Delia Olguin of Artesia, N.M.; brothers, Andres Cortez of Hobbs, N.M.,
    Juan Cortez of Tucson, Ariz., Mauro Cortez of Mora, N.M., and Daniel
    Cortez of Artesia, N.M.; sister, Francisca Saiz of Artesia, N.M.; 26
                 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
