                                Johnie Beard
       HOUSTON — Johnie Lavelle Beard, 73, of Houston, a retired
            postmaster, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, in Houston.
      Services were Friday in Houston. Arrangements by Claire Brothers
                               Funeral Home.
    He was born in Clarendon. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He
                             was Episcopalian.
   SURVIVORS: Wife, Anna Beth Beard of Houston; brother, Robert E. Beard
    of Naperville, Ill.; daughters, Tamara Mapp and Tracy Beard, both of
    Houston, and Connie White of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and four
                            great-grandchildren.
                                      
                             Manuela Hernandez
      PECOS — Manuela Hernandez, 76, of Pecos, a homemaker, died
             Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Reeves County Hospital.
      Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at Santa Rosa Catholic
    Church. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home
               Chapel. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
    She was born in Alpine and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. She was
                                 Catholic.
   SURVIVORS: Sons, Epifanio Hernandez of Goshen, Calif., Eddie Hernandez
   of San Manuel, Ariz., and Ruben Hernandez of Pecos; daughters, Minnie
   Pallanes, Lupe Saiz and Marcelina Abila, all of Goshen, Calif., Trine
   Villalobos of Pecos, Rose Mary Hernandez of Tucson, Ariz., and Bertha
   Franco of Corcoran, Calif.; 54 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren;
                     and 50 great-great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                D.R. Houston
   ODESSA — D.R. Houston, 57, of Odessa died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999,
                                 in Odessa.
     Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the home of D.R. and
       Kathy Houston, 705 Sioux Trail, with the Rev. Craig De Armand
     officiating. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial
                                  Chapel.
                      He was born in Silver City, N.M.
    SURVIVORS: Wife, Kathy Houston of Odessa; son, Michael R. Houston of
   Snyder; daughter, Tina Newton of Odessa; brothers, William Houston of
    Soccorro, N.M., and Waymon Houston of Fort Worth; sister, Sarah Duke
                 of Soccorro, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
                                      
                                M.C. Martin
   ANDREWS — M.C. "Marion" Martin, 76, of Denver City, retired owner
   of Martin Meter Co., died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Covenant Medical
                             Center in Lubbock.
    Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with
      the Rev. J.S. McMullen of Rowlett officiating. Burial will be at
        Andrews North Cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
   He was born in Eliasville. He was any Army veteran of World War II. He
                                was Baptist.
     SURVIVORS: Wife, Pernia Martin of Denver City; son, Jay Martin of
    Irving; daughter, Linda Benham of Andrews; sisters, Sylvia Hudson of
   Arlington, Ruth Anderson of Waxahachie, Frances Lane of Yucca Valley,
   Calif., and Emma Holder of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; and two
                            great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Madlyn Knouf
    ODESSA — Madlyn Knouf, 80, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Dec. 22,
                     1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
           Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
                                      
                               Richard Lovett
   BOSSIER, La. — Richard Lovett, 53, of Odessa, died Thursday, Dec.
                         22, 1999, in Bossier, La.
        Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
