January 27, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ CRANE -- Fern Keltner Young, 84, of Crane went home Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, from her residence at 104 W. 14th Street. Services for Mrs. Young will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William D. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow at Crane County Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Richard W. Box Funeral Homes. Mrs. Young was born on June 21, 1914, in Gaines County to the late Joe W. and Effie Boyd. She married G. Darrell Keltner on Aug. 3, 1934, in Crosbyton, Texas, and resided in Crane, Texas for 65 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was a member of the Naomi Sunday School Class and taught Sunday School Classes in the church and worked with her husband for many years at Keltner Pharmacy. Mr. Keltner preceded her in death in 1975. In June 1976, she was married to Jack Young of South Dakota. They divided their time between Crane and Mr. Young's ranch in South Dakota. Mr. Young preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Young is survived by one daughter, Kay Courtright of Crane; and one sister, Ruby Davis of Dallas. Pallbearers for the service are Joe Allen, Tiny Earp, Darrell Scott, Ted Hogan, Houston Lowe, Clayton Murphy, Hal Dew and Jay Damron. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Warren, Audwin Gallion, Jack Evans, Jack Damron, Delbert Matlock and K.V.
