Armendariz, 82, of Odessa will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 1 to 10 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mr. Armendariz died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Nov. 2, 1916, in San Jose, Texas. He married Trinidad Muniz April 28, 1935, at Vado de Piedra. Pallbearers will be Richard Hernandez, Lee Roy Armendariz Jr., Roy Armendariz, John Armendariz, Richard Lee Olivarez, Martin Olivarez and Joe Angel Ramirez. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Gomez. Survivors include his wife, Trinidad Armendariz of Odessa; daughters, Felipa Gomez, Nena Levario and Rosa Hernandez, all of Odessa, and Guti Olivarez of Houston; sons, Carlos Armendariz, Juan Armendariz and Joe Armendariz, all of Odessa, and Lee Armendariz of Houston; 33 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Services for "The Colonel" Jimmy Davis, 88, of Odessa will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. David Atkins officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Davis died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in Odessa. He was born May 7, 1910, in Oxford, Miss. He married Gladys Cherry, June 7, 1945, in Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Davis came to Odessa from Lamesa in 1957. He was the owner and operator of E.R.A. American Real Estate. Mr. Davis also enjoyed his time as an auctioneer. He was Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Davis of Odessa; son, Jimmy Davis Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Odessa; daughter, Toni Lindley and her husband, Larry, of Odessa; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity. Jack Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Dunaway died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 26, 1913, in Electra. She married Clarence H. Dunaway Jan. 18, 1934, in Canyon. Mrs. Dunaway came to Odessa in 1955 from Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a Rebeckah Goodwill Ambassador for her work with th Rainbow Girls in Hobbs, N.M. She was very active in the PTA in Hobbs, N.M. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Clarence H. Dunaway of Odessa; sons, C.H. Dunaway of McIntosh, N.M., and Bryce J. Dunaway of Fayetteville, Ga.; brother, Warren T. Sanders of Halfmoon Bay, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Tom White of Andrews. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hughes died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born March 26, 1914, in Stephens County. He married Jimmie Louise Swanner July 13, 1938, in Ranger. Mr. Hughes moved to Odessa in 1947 from Fort Worth. He was a member of Odessa Primitive Baptist Church. He was an operator for an oilfield gas plant for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Jack Hughes, a brother, M.M. Hughes, and a sister Eddie Fish. Survivors include his wife, Louise Hughes of Odessa; son, Gary D. Hughes and his wife, Suzanne, of Rockwall; daughter, Kay Woods and her husband, Terry, of Odessa; brothers, Raymond "Pete" Hughes and his wife, Mickey, of Sweetwater, and Alex D. Hughes of Breckenridge; sisters, Louise Boles of Gunsight, Velma Thorton of Perryton, Sarah Killebrew of Dallas and Rosie Griffith of Breckenridge; nine grandchildren, Linda, Peggy, Laura, Raymond, Terry, Zack, Jaime, Troy and Heather; and 10 great-grandchildren. Public visitation will be from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mr. Hernandez died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 4, 1940, to Jesusa Montanez Hernandez and Rodolfo Hernandez. He was a retired water supplier for Culligan Soft Water. He was "Papi" to Ryan and Karissa Herrera and Aubrey Villarreal. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Manuel Hernandez and Ben Hernandez; and a sister, Gloria Montez. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Hernandez of Odessa; son, Domingo Hernandez Jr. and his girlfriend, Edith Aguirre, of Odessa; sisters, Estella Rodriguez of Midland, Virginia Buentello of Garland, Angelita Maldenado of San Antonio, Mary Guevara of Big Spring and Linda Olivas of Stanton; brothers, Rudy Hernandez of Seguin and Felix Hernandez of Miami.
