Beeman, 81, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24. 1999, at Odessa Regional Hospital. Marilyn was born Jan. 27, 1918, in Wichita County to Adolph and Mattie Wittenbach. She fell in love with and married Archie Beeman on Sept. 27, 1936. In October of 1937, they were blest with their first child, Harold Dean. Two years later their daughter, Lynda Sue, was born in September of 1939. In 1951, she and her family moved to Odessa. Archie owned and operated Basin Machine & Manufacturing Inc. until his death in December 1985. Basin Machine & Manufacturing Inc., is now owned and operated by his son, Dean Beeman. Marilyn experienced a wonderful life in the art world in Odessa. She was blest with an artistic talent which could be seen in her home which she designed. Her favorite style of painting that graced the walls thoughout the house were portraits, though many other variations of art could be seen. One of Marilyn's favorite paintings "Train up a Child," was displayed in Senator Towers office in Washington, D.C., as well as in the Capitol building in Texas. For 81 years, Marilyn lived a full and exciting life. She touched family, friends, and acquaintances with her wisdom, humor and creativity. Coming from a family of nine children Marilyn was the second to oldest. Her younger brothers and sisters affectionately called her "Sis." Through Marilyn's paintings and her life, her love for Jesus Christ could be seen. She never forgot the One who made life worth living. Her love of Christ influenced children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends with a zest for living life to the fullest. Graveside services for Marilyn Beeman will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gary Albe officiating. Arrangements are made by Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home. Survivors include her son, Dean Beeman and his wife, Mary, of Odessa; her daughter, Sue Kirk and her husband, Harold, of Odessa. She is survived by her brothers A.W. Wittenbach of Electra, Billy Joe Wittenbach of Midland, and Don Wittenbach of Chickasha, Okla.; her surviving sisters are Kay Johns of Electra, Elizabeth Davenport of Tyler and Faye Smith of Sherman. She is also survived by grandchildren, Laurie Kuhlwein of Dallas, Diana Wenzel of Dallas, Deann Welch of Midland, Dr. J.W. Kirk of Odessa, Kay Adams of Houston and Kelley Fernandez of Houston. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Beeman, her brother Bob Wittenbach, and her sister Bernice Embery. _________________________________________________________________ Lisa Renee Thornton was born September 19, 1960 in Odessa, Texas to Loyd Irvin and Velda Juanita (Dane) Keith. She was reared in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1978. She met Jimmy D. Thornton in Midland, and they were married in Odessa in 1981. The Thorntons have lived in Midland since. Mrs. Thornton is survived by her husband, Jimmy D. Thornton; her son, Jayson Keith Thornton; her daughter, Kristy Lynn Thornton, all of Midland; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Keith of Midland; her brother, Bill Keith of Pilot Point; her sisters, Jan Bullock of Bonham and Kathy Chandler of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thornton died at her home in Midland Wednesday, February 24, 1999. Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with M. R. Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. The family request memorials be directed to Hospice of Midland, P.O. Box 2621, Midland 79702, or Travis Baptist Church, 1000 E. Gist Ave., Midland 79701. Pallbearers will be Cody Burnett, Brandon Fish, Jeremy Bullock, Jason Hernandez, Mitchell McKinley, Dusty Walker, Kevin Thornton, and Jeff Lasley. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Otis "Bobby" Brown was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Temple to Matthew and Pinkie Brown. He was united in marriage to Margie P. Dale in Denver, Colo. They moved to Odessa in 1973. Otis Brown worked as a chef for 39 years. He also worked at Odessa College from where he retired. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margie P. Brown of Odessa; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; seven nieces from Seattle, Wash., and a host of nieces, nephews and friends from Odessa.
