March 06, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Mass for Sulema Garza Dutchover, 71, of Odessa was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Martinez Funeral Home. Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Thursday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mrs. Dutchover died Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Deering Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Nixon to Lonisa Valdez and Juan Garza Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dutchover, and her parents, Lonisa Valdez and Juan Garza Sr. Mrs. Dutchover was a housewife and a 52-year resident of Odessa. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include her sons, Johnny G. Dutchover of Midland and Frank G. Dutchover of Odessa; daughters, Bertha Newman of Midland, Idann Dutchover, Blanca Nunez and Margaret Salazar, all of Odessa, Joann Barrera of Brownwood, Francis Alvarez of Dallas and Ninefa Castillo of Del Rio; brothers, Domingo Garza Sr., Juan Garza Jr., Santos Garza and Salvador Garza, all of Odessa, Victor Garza of Big Spring and Thomas Garza of Fort Worth; sister, Inez Mendez of Lubbock; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Mass for Vicente Serrano, 79, of Odessa will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Serrano died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at his residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1920, in Durango, Mexico. Survivors include his wife, Manuela Melchor Serrano of Odessa; sons, Braulio Serrano and his wife, Maria Felix, Jesus Serrano and his wife, Antonia, Raul Serrano and his wife, Judy, Celso Serrano and his wife Alicia, Miguel Serrano and his wife, Maria L., Jesus Manuel Serrano and his wife, Martha, and Sixto Serrano and his wife, Saira, all of Odessa; daughters, Irene Marquez and her husband, Manuel, Elvira Suchil and her husband, Acencio, Julieta Dutchover and her husband, Frank, Olivia Medrano and her husband, Jose, and Irma Valenzuela and her husband, Felipe, all of Odessa, and Marcelina Acosta of Bakersfield, Calif.; 53 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Clark, 76, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born May 27, 1922 in Homer, La. Rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Odessa, with the Rev. Mark Woodruff officiating. A private burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Clark married Sylvia LaCour July 6, 1942 in Lafayette, La. He was the owner of Hollice Clark Truck Fabrication, Inc. He moved to Odessa in 1948 from Tulsa, Okla. He attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He loved going to church. He was active in Boy Scouts of America and loved children. He helped establish Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He also loved flowers, Longhorn cattle, hunting and the study of genealogy. Survivors are, wife, Sylvia Clark of Odessa; four daughters: Christina Wright of Junction, Texas, Minka Sibert of Odessa, Holly Perkins of Farmington, N.M. and Carmen Randolph of Lubbock, Texas; three sons: LaCour Clark of Odessa, John Robbin Clark of Katy, Texas, and Kevin Clark of Westminster, Co.; one brother, Harold Clark of Hillsboro; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marshall Love, Jim Rauscher, B.L Frazier, Gary Winsenhunt, Bill Pollard, and Ralph Tierney. Honorary pallbearers will be Don McCulloch, Artie Everett, Elgin Darley, Les Hubbard, Robert Williams, Sr., and Rob Mallow. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Elizabeth's Classroom Building Fund or Catholic Charities. Arrangements are by Frank W.
