March 7, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA - Stanley Ray McCutcheon departed this world on Friday, March 5, 1999 in a tragic accident. Mr. McCutcheon was born April 1, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Odessa, Texas, a graduate of Permian High School in 1979 and was still a Mojo fan. He also attended North Texas State, Odessa College and The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Mr. McCutcheon was a member of the Christian Church of Odessa. Mr. McCutcheon married Patricia Williams on December 3, 1988 and became a father to two beautiful children since that time. He loved life and all of the good things that are related to family and relatives. He was a good, loving husband and father. His friends were also very important to him and he was always ready for a good, friendly competitive game of golf with any of them. Mr. Stanley Ray McCutcheon will be terribly missed and certainly never, never forgotten. Services are under the direction of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home and will be held at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home Monday, March 8, 1999 at 2 p.m. The Revs. J.R. McCutcheon and Clark B. Racca will be officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors include his wife, Patricia McCutcheon; daughter, Carole Josephine McCutcheon; son, Shawn Michael McCutcheon; father, J.R. McCutcheon; sister, Gina McNurleo and husband Rick; sister, Evelina McCutcheon; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Josephine and Billy Williams. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carole McCutcheon in 1991. The family will be receiving visitors from 2 p.m to 4 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA - Jane Cowen Wood, 82, of Odessa, passed away Friday, March 5, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Wood was born September 10, 1916, in Okemah, Okla. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel, with Father Mark Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in Sunny Lane Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Odessa. After raising five children in Midwest city, Okla., Mrs. Wood began a career with the U.S. Department of State. Her tours of duty included Germany, Greece, India and El Salvador. She married Mr. Kessler E. Wood, Sr. in 1988 and became a resident of Odessa. She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Cowen. Survivors include, husband, Kessler E. Wood, Sr.; daughters, Carolyn Braum, Georgia Panchy, and Kay Whittaker; son, Dan Cowen; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Services for Courtney Bush Watson, 89, of Notrees are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Mindel officiating. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. Monday in Grape Creek Cemetery with Brad Winchester officiating. Mr. Watson died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born March 18, 1909, in Beaumont. He married Anna Posey on Feb. 20, 1931 in San Angelo. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1993. He was also preceded in death by sisters Shirley Mason Watson, Marguerite Gillette, and Hallie Hamilton and brothers, J.C. Watson, Doug Watson, Charlie Watson and Ronald Watson. Mr. Watson moved to Notrees in 1948 from Big Spring. He was a retired foreman for Shell Oil Co. and a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include daughter, Jacqueline Gregory of Devine; son, Milton Cody Watson of Big Spring; brother, Paul Wayne Watson of Van; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Henry Artie Mace ODESSA - Henry Artie Mace, 91, of Odessa, died on March 5, 1999 at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ector County Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Dickerson officiating. Public viewing will be at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and family viewing at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home. Mr. Mace was born on September 30, 1907 in Stevenville, Texas. He married Wilma Bankston on December 23, 1939 in Ranger, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Mace of Odessa; son, Rodney Artie Mace of Houston; daughters, Linda Rocke of Jal, N.M. and Janice Mace of Midland; brother, Lyle Mace of Graham; sister, Maydell Roquemore of Ponca City, Okla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. _________________________________________________________________ Copyright © 1999 Odessa American.
