C March 16, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Mass for Eddie Ray Rodriguez, 36, of Odessa, a lab technician, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Eddie was born Aug. 28, 1962, in San Antonio to Eluterio and Mary Lou Rodriguez. Being the baby of the bunch, he had five brothers and two sisters. At only 14, he began his own family. On May 11, 1977, he was married to Lupe Gutierrez. God blest him with four wonderful children, one daughter and three sons. Eddie never failed to acknowledge anyone. He said "Hi" to friends and family, even to those he didn't know. Eddie's inspiration was children. They always were able to bring a smile to his face. He was blest once again with a grandchild. Eddie made sure that everyone he knew understood he loved them deeply. His hobbies consisted of reading and playing year-round sports including softball, football, fishing and basketball. Eddie was an ambitious man who always tried to better himself, although not many were able to see that side. Eddie is survived by his wife, Lupe G. Rodriguez; his daughter and son-in-law, Iris and Luis Carrillo; his sons, Edward Ray Rodriguez Jr., Victor Edward Rodriguez and Dorian Ivan Rodriguez; his mother, Mary Lou Rodriguez; his brothers, Larry Rodriguez, Ricky Rodriguez, Joe Robert Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez and Ernest Rodriguez; his sisters, Esther Tovar and Evangelina Santiago; his "Precious Princess," Joslynn Elijah Carrillo. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Eustolio (Junior) Gutierrez; and mother-in-law, Josie (Chepa) Gutierrez; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Funeral arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- On March 11, 1999, Herman left this world to join his beloved wife, Beverly Jean, parents, brother and sisters in the Glory Land. Graveside services were held Saturday, March 13, 1999. Mr. Prentice was born June 5, 1923, in Ballinger to Ralph Earnest and Mary Etta Prentice. The family moved to Breckenridge in 1927. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1941 and joined the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After his services with the Air Force, he attended Vanderbilt University for a short time. On March 27, 1948, he married Beverly Jean Prentice. Mr. Prentice retired from Rowan Drilling Co. after 26 years of service. He returned to Lake Brownwood where he enjoyed fishing, woodworking and planting trees and flowers. Survivors include his sons, Tom Prentice and his girlfriend, Debbie Daniels, of Odessa, and Robert Prentice and his wife, Tina, of Odessa; daughters, Mary Coats and husband, Danny, of Carrollton and Mitzie Baker and husband, Bobby, of Odessa; 15 grandchildren, Danny, David, Danellie, Sherry, Tonya, Bryan, Kathy, Jayson, Brad, Christi, Donnie, Mandy, Jessica, Tina and Randy; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
