March 27, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- On March 25, 1999, Warren L. Bishop, 50, went home to be with our Lord after a long and brave battle with Huntington's Disease. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Saint Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Craig Martindale and Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Mr. Bishop was born Nov. 4, 1948, in Oklahoma City. He grew up and graduated from high school in Borger. He graduated in 1972 with a BBA from West Texas State University. On July 1, 1969, Warren married Joan Friend Bishop. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Brent and Kimberly. Warren was very proud of his family. He loved watching his children in their activities at school and church and his face always lit up when he talked about them. Mr. Bishop was a member of Saint Andrews Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Promise Keepers where he had so many, many friends. He always felt he was surrounded by Angels, by all of their prayers, help and support. Mr. Bishop worked for A-1 Homes and HSA Mortgage until 1991. His favorite hobbies were watching the Dallas Cowboys, reading the newspaper, going to the movies and eating chocolate chip cookies and Blue Bell ice cream. Warren was a fighter and he fought this terrible disease for many years. The staff at the Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center became his second family as they fought the Huntington's battle with him. He loved them all dearly. Mr. Bishop touched so many hearts and made so many friends. He was taken such good care of his last few months of life by the caring people of Home Hospice and the Avalon Place Nursing Home. Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his mother, Helen McDonald. Warren is survived by his wife, Joan Bishop of Odessa; his son, Brent Bishop of Seattle, Wash.; his daughter, Kimberly Bishop of Odessa; father, A.L. Bishop of Royce City; stepfather, Lloyd McDonald of Chattanooga, Tenn.; stepmother, Wilma Green of Oklahoma City; sisters, Wilma Parker of Houston and Lorraine McDonald of Amarillo; brother, Paul McDonald of Springfield, Mo.; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. If desired, memorials may be made in Mr. Bishop's memory to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 158 W. 29th St., Seventh Floor, New York 10001-5300 or the Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center, 620 N. Alleghaney Ave., Odessa 79761. _________________________________________________________________ Daphne Mae (Ann) Hulsey HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. -- Daphne Mae (Ann) Hulsey went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 24, 1999. She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Stonewall, Okla., the daughter of Eugene and Lydia Barnett. She was married July 24, 1946, to George C. Hulsey, who preceded her in death March 16, 1995. She is survived by four children, Barbara Adamson of Paris, Frelan Fields of Odessa, Wiley Hulsey of North Little Rock, Ark., and Kent Hulsey of Heber Springs, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a sister, Minnie Wade of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Monroe Barnett, and one sister, Opal Wells. The Hulseys moved to Heber Springs, Ark., from Odessa in 1982, where they became active members in the First Baptist Church. Ann attended and taught adult classes and was an active member of W.M.U. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Services were held Friday, March 26, 1999, in the First Baptist Church sanctuary. Interment was at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
