April 01, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Gerald "Hud" Huddleston, 63, of Odessa died March 30, 1999, at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born March 16, 1936, in Grassland. Hud graduated from Andrews High School. He was a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church and he was associated with Huddleston Equipment in its early years. He was presently owner of Gerald Huddleston Pipe Company. He loved to fish and hunt and to watch Nimitz and Mojo football. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gary Lamarr Huddleston in 1990. Mr. Huddleston is survived by his wife, Vickie Maddox Huddleston of Odessa; son, Doak Huddleston of Odessa; daughter, Dr. Sherri Gillham of Midland; mother, Carrie Lee Huddleston of Monahans; brother, David Huddleston of Monahans; grandchildren, Bailey Jo Huddleston and Dylan Lee Huddleston. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 2, 1999, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. Friday, April 2, 1999, at Andrews Cemetery in Andrews. If desired, memorials may be made to a local Hospice organization. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Donald Harold Tidwell, 61, of Odessa ended his courageous battle with pulmonary hypertension "lung disease" on March 30, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Don was born April 19, 1937, in Hot Springs, Ark., and shared 38 years of marriage with Lucy Alice Sloan. Together, they raised two children and spoiled three grandchildren. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Don moved to Odessa from Carlsbad, N.M., in 1969 to start a 13-year career with Hershey Foods. In 1979, he started Tidwell Business Forms and retired in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, of Odessa; son, Ty Nathan and wife, Natalie, of Odessa; daughter, Lisa Taylor and husband, Scott, of Odessa; three grandchildren, Ashley "Nickle" Tessaro, Tyler "Teelaroy" Tidwell and Brayden "Hoss" Tidwell, all of Odessa; sister, Katherine Collier and her husband, Howard, of Benton, Ark.; brother, Larry Tidwell and wife, Linda, of Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 1999, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family requests any memorials be made to Children's Miracle Network at Medical Center Hospital. Funeral arrangements are by Frank W.
