April 20, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Margarita G. Gonzalez, 76, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 17, 1999. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at First United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. J.T. Pugh and Nicolas Muniz officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. To our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother whom will always be loved dearly. She went home praising her Lord and Savior. She went rejoicing with the Lord and her Loved Ones. Thank you Jesus for allowing our Precious Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother, a wonderful Christian, who was the special selected one to teach us and show us and others about your awesome love. With our trust, hope and belief in Christ, we will see you again. That is God's promise to those who love him. She is survived by two sisters, Maria Galindo of Marathon and Rita Tavarez of Fort Stockton; five sons and two daughters, Jose Gonzalez of Las Cruces, N.M., Mario Gonzalez of Del Rio, Juanita Rosas of Kermit, Wally Gonzalez of Odessa, Manuela Herrera of Odessa, Antonio Gonzalez of Sommerville, Agapito Gonzalez of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mom, you will be forever loved and missed. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Anna Lee Parker White, 84, of Odessa passed away Saturday, April 17, 1999, at an Odessa nursing home. She was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Rotan. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 1999, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Odessa under the direction of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors of Odessa. Mrs. White graduated from the nursing program at Odessa College and worked as a licensed vocational nurse. She loved her family and loved to cook and watch sports on television. She also loved to shop and was good at it. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Bridges and Gladys Bierthwirth, and one brother, Vance Parker. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Ronnie and Norma White of El Paso and Kerry Mac and Sara Weems of Mansfield; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons-in-law Tim Easley, Fred Mayberry, Don Ball and Larry Parsons. _________________________________________________________________ Dr. Nicholas Samponaro SARASOTA, Fla. -- Dr. Nicholas Samponaro, 95, of North Hutchinson Island, Fla., formerly of Litchfield, Conn., died Thursday, April 13, 1999, in Florida. He was the husband of Marie O. (Guerrieri) Samponaro for 60 years. Dr. Samponaro was born Sept. 29, 1903, in Hartford, Conn., son of the late Frank and Lucia (Martorelli) Samponaro. He was a graduate of Hartford High School, Trinity College in 1925 and Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1929. A physician specializing in eye, ear, nose and throat disorders, he interned in Baltimore and New York before joining the staff at Hartford Hospital. During World War II he served as a Commander in the U.S. Navy. Following the war he joined the staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington and had a private practice until retiring in 1983. Dr. Samponaro was a dedicated physician and a man of great integrity, who gave his time generously to those unable to provide for themselves. A deeply spiritual man, he lived his faith and loved his family unconditionally. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, the Litchfield County Medical Association and other professional groups. In addition to his wife, three sons survive him, Frank N. Samponaro of Sarasota, Fla., Philip G. Samponaro of Litchfield, Conn., and Peter G. Samponaro of Greenwich, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and he was blessed with three loving daughter-in-laws, Marsha, Tish and Diana. Funeral services and burial in East Cemetery Litchfield were private. There were no calling hours. The Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, had charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity College, 300 Summit St., Hartford, Conn., or Johns Hopkins Hospital, 601 N.
