April 21, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Graveside services for Dorothy Butler, 80, of Odessa will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Craig Martindale officiating. Mrs. Butler died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Sterling County Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Dallas. She married G. Cecil Butler Dec. 15, 1945, in Dallas. Mrs. Butler came to Odessa in 1950. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had retired from accounting where she was self-employed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Butler; and a son, Robert W. Butler. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Kay and her husband, Glenn Bryan of Oklahoma City, Cecile Cooper of Lubbock and Gloria Ann Wilson of San Marcos; a son, Donny Lynn Butler of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Faye Lee Connell ODESSA -- Faye Lee Connell, 88, of Paris, Texas passed away April 19, 1999, in a Paris nursing home. Mrs. Connell was born April 12, 1911, in Clyde, Texas, to Fred Lee and Eva Mae Chunn. She married Wilson Edmond Connell on August 17, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas. Faye had worked as an R.N. at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, where she received her training. She had been a resident of Odessa for more than 50 years before moving to Paris five years ago to be near family. While in Odessa, she was active in many organizations including the DAR, Creative Writer's Club, Hospital Volunteer, League of Women Voters, Election Poll Worker, Democratic Women, several children's organizations and the Historical Society, as well as a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989 and a daughter and granddaughter, Martha Yvonne Connell Davis and Laura Davis, in 1976. She is survived by two grandchildren, Joe Kirklin of Arlington Heights, Illinois and Kimberly Kirklin of Louisville, Ken.; a step-granddaughter, Toni Perry of Houston; two step-great-grandchildren, Jessica and Jay Perry; five sisters, Nelle Miller of Alvin, Dannie Ford of Shreveport, La., Ethel Martin of Rockwall, Reba and her husband, Leon Bolgiano of Paris, and Helen Gilmore of Gun Barrell, Texas; son-in-law, Perry Davis of Odessa; sister-in-law, Norma Chunn of Rockwall; many nieces and nephews. Public visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April, 23, 1999, in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Philip McLarty officiating.
