June 02, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Mass for Jesus R. Renteria, 79, of Odessa will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 to 9:40 a.m. Thursday at the Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Renteria died Sunday May 30, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born March 3, 1920, in Candelaria. He married Socorro Ramos in 1942 and came to Odessa in 1943 from Balmorhea. He was a retired engineer and worked at Medical Center Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregorio Renteria; his mother, Pomposa Ornelas; and his sons, Jesus Renteria Jr. and Jose Renteria. Survivors include his wife, Socorro Renteria of Odessa; seven daughters, Maria Yolanda Lopez, Helen Leon, Creselda Renteria, Belinda Olivas, and Joanna Renteria, all of Odessa, and Linda Martinez of Austin; four sons, David Renteria, Manuel Renteria, Mark Anthony Renteria and Joe Brian Renteria, all of Odessa; brothers, Trine Ornelas of Roswell, N.M., Felipe Ornelas of Balmorhea and Manuel Sauceda of Odessa; sisters, Monce Olivas of Muleshoe, Apolonia Rayos of Odessa, Maria Riveria of El Indio, Calif., and Alejandra Ornelas of Balmorhea; 31 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Clovis Fink ODESSA -- Clovis Joyce Fink, 87, of Oklahoma City, passed away May 29, 1999. She was born Oct. 30, 1911, in Tipton, Okla., to Love and John Thomas McAmis. Mrs. Fink worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. She married David N. Fink Sept. 14, 1946, and moved to Odessa where they lived until Mr. Fink's death in 1986. Mrs. Fink returned to Oklahoma City where she was a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Fink was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jarvis Twain McAmis, and her beloved sisters, Fetna Green and Jean Ritzhaupt. She is survived by her loving sister, Kiki Yeakel of Oklahoma City; her nieces, Cai Morgan Glackin of Dallas and Linda Ward of San Diego, Calif., and her nephews, Bill Ritzhaupt of Dallas and Bob Ritzhaupt of Pottsboro, Texas. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Nettie A. Williford COMANCHE -- Nettie A. Williford, 75, of Comanche, formerly of Odessa, passed away Monday at 12:10 p.m. in Oak Ridge Manor in Brownwood. She was born March 12, 1925, in Comanche, the daughter of the late Edward and Rachel P. Tiner Boynton. She married Durward V. Williford on Oct. 14, 1945, in De Leon. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in Mercer Gap Cemetery. Mrs. Williford is survived by her husband, Durward, of Brownwood; one daughter, Barbara Tate and her husband, Jim, of Mexia; one son, Victor Williford of Odessa; three sisters, Frances Carroll and Modelle Townsend, both of Brownwood, and Jessie Lee Day of Odessa; five granddaughters, Sarah Cecil, Shelley Williford and Sherri Williford, all of Odessa, Debra Tate of Paris and Rachel Glidewell of Jacksonville; one grandson, Charles Williford of Odessa, and one great-granddaughter, Megan Kenny of Odessa. Lunch for the family will be served following the service at noon today in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church in Comanche. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Comanche, Mercer Gap Cemetery or Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche.
