June 27, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ Michael Ray Gaddy, 60, of Odessa died Thursday, June 24, at his residence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 28 at First Christian Church with the Rev. Doctor Jim Rudd of Midland Memorial Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mr. Gaddy was born November 25, 1939 in McCamey, to Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Gaddy. A life long resident of Odessa, Mr. Gaddy graduated from Odessa High School, where he was a member of the Odessa Bronchos. He attended Odessa College and the University of Texas. He taught Industrial Arts at Ector High School and was most recently employed by United Pump and Supply. He was an avid golfer and hunter. Mike will be forever missed by his extensive family. He was preceded in death by his father, J. W. Gaddy. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Smith Gaddy; four sons Mr. And Mrs. Stuart Barnes Gaddy and granddaughter, Alyssa of Austin, Mr. James Michael Gaddy of Odessa, Mr. Joe Warren Gaddy of Venice, Calif., Dr. Stace Reeves Gaddy of New York, N.Y.; and five cousins Mr. and Mrs. Errol Smith of Marble Falls; Sue Gryder of Burnett; Austin Christi Gryder; Don Clayton Gryder of Austin; and Mr. and Mrs. Quinten Smith of San Antonio. Pallbearers will be his sons, Stewart Banes Gaddy, James Michael Gaddy, Joe Warren Gaddy, Dr. Stace Reeves Gaddy, Kevin McDaniels and Harold Christensen. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA --Dwain Hill, 83, of Odessa died Friday, June 25, 1999 at his residence. He was born Feb. 3, 1916 in Ink, Mo. He married Jeanie Holmes on April 3, 1944 in Lovington, N.M. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Hill came to Odessa in 1964 from Hobbs N.M. He worked as a material coordinator for Philips Petroleum until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Hill of Odessa; daughters, Bonnie Scales and husband Bill of Boerne and Norma Collins and husband Eddie of Jal N.M.; brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. John Holmes; grandchildren, Cynthia Vidas and husband Jay, David Scales, Brian Scales, Angela Collins and James Collins; two great-grandchildren, Rachel Vidas and Rebecca Vidas; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials go to Home Hospice of Odessa, 516 N. Texas 79762.
