July 30, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Oma Boss, 64, of Odessa, died Thursday, July 28, 1999, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Blair officiating. Burial will be in Denver. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. She was born Aug. 8, 1934, in Turkey. She was a teacher at her own day care center. Survivors include her husband, Damon Boss of Dacono, Colo.; daughter, Debra O'Neil of Denver; brothers, R.L. Gabbert of Oro Valley, Ariz., Doyle Gabbert of Denver and Rita Rector of Iraan; and one grandchild, Ryan Boss. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- James Greenwade, 85, of Odessa, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Avalon Nursing Home. Services will be at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hanson officiating. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home. Public visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. Saturday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. He was born March 9, 1914, in Waco, and has lived in Odessa for 47 years. He married Annie Turner Oct. 13, 1948. He was employed by FMC Incorporated. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Greenwade and his mother Bertha Hines. Survivors include his wife, Annie Greenwade of Odessa; sons, Ronald Greenwade of Odessa, Gary Greenwade of Denver; daughter, Linda Greenwade; and sister, Dorothy Hopkins of Denver. _________________________________________________________________ Landon "Lanny" Ray James ODESSA -- Landon "Lanny" Ray James, 33, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. "Lanny" was born to Luther Darryl James Jr. and Linda Kathleen Shiever James on June 8, 1966, in Odessa. He attended Permian High School. Mr. James was a member of the West Texas Sky Diving Club and was also a member of the Pool Players League of Odessa. "Lanny" is survived by his mother, Linda James, his grandmother, Gwen Shiever, and his longtime friend, Sherri Smith, all of Odessa. He also is survived by his sister, Tina Pool, her husband, Darren, and "Lanny's" niece, Ryann of Andrews; his aunts and uncles, Jerry and Susan Shiever of Austin, Lavera and Wayne Fleet and Bertha Reid of Houston, LaMarr and Donna James of Odessa. Other survivors include his cousins Caron Shiever, Leah Reid, Madison James, Taylor James and Jordan Fleet. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dean Kelm officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. James' arrangements will be conducted under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Elnor Spencer Liner passed away on Thursday, July 29, 1999, after a brief illness. She was born March 18, 1913, to Raymond G. Young and Effie Mae Young in Jones County. Elnor touched the lives of everyone who knew her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She will be forever remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, V.A. Liner; and brother, George Young. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Keesee of Odessa; brother, Earl Young of Dallas, niece, Frances Young of Dallas and Nelwyn Young; nephew, Morris Young of Odessa and Ronnie Young of Hawley; granddaughter, Kay Stewart of Carrolton; grandson, Kelly Keesee of Odessa; great-grandson, Kristopher Keesee of Odessa; stepsons, James Liner and his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Snyder and Van Horn, Alford Liner and his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Anson; and stepdaughter Dolly Reddin and her family; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Merkel. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Temple Baptist Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Merkel Cemetery. Arrangements by North's Funeral Home in Abilene. _________________________________________________________________ Luella M. "Wolfe" Page OAKLEY, Kan. -- Luella M. "Wolfe" Page, 86, died July 27, 1999, at the Millbrook Resident Home in Englewood, Colo. She was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Oakley, Kan., the daughter of Harvey & Mattie "Evans" Wolfe. In 1935, she was married to Wesley Page, and to this union four children were born, Jacqueline, Harvey, Carolyn and Ronald. They were divorced in 1949. Luella supported her family as a bookkeeper, working for Arnold Brothers Ford and later for Rayback Plumbing, both in Boulder, Colo. She resided at the Presbyterian Manor in Boulder for 15 years. Her memberships included First United Methodist Church and the Knife & Fork Club. She was Grand Matron of the Boulder White Shrine and was a member of Eastern Star in Oakley for more than 60 years. She received a 50-year pin. During her life, Luella was a promoter of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, serving as a Girl Scout Leader for a troop she founded in Oakley. Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Mershon of Manhattan, Kan., and Carolyn Theobald of Santa Rosa, Cailf.; two sons, Harvey Page of Odessa and Ronald Page of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Myrtle Surmeier of Colby, Kan.; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lola Kinsley, Dorothy Blickenstaff and Eulalia Frazier, and one brother, Richard Wolfe. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Winter officiating. Burial will be at the Oakley Cemetery.
