   Iona Ruth Adams
   
   LOMETA  --  Iona  Ruth  Adams, 90, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Aug. 18,
   1999, at Avalon Place Nursing Home.
   
   Services  will  be  at  11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the
   Rev. Doyle Combs officiating. Burial will be at Lometa City Cemetery.
   
   She  was born Oct. 20, 1908, in Lampasas County. She married Virgil D.
   Adams Dec. 18, 1926, in Star. She was a member of First Baptist Church
   in Lometa.
   
   She  was  preceded  in death by her husband March 6, 1978; her father,
   Noah Ervin Clark; and her mother, Cornelia Archie Clark; son, Douglas;
   and sisters, Helen Ross and Iva Rue Jackson.
   
   Survivors  include  her  son,  Herbert  H.  Adams  and wife, Carol, of
   Odessa;  sisters Mildred Potts of Lometa and Veta Hanes of Gatesville;
   grandchildren,  Rena Rasor and Sharon Rhodes, both of Odessa, and Alan
   Adams  of  Lubbock;  great-grandchildren,  Paul  Rhodes,  Mark Rhodes,
   Brandon Rhodes and Garrett Rasor.
   
   Arrangements by Sheppard Memorial Funeral Home of Lampasas.
