"Curly" Bachus, 76, of Odessa will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Newton officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bachus died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at his residence. He was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Cottonwood. He married Lena Geneva Dodd March 3, 1943, in Fort Worth. Mr. Bachus moved to Odessa in 1962 from Farmington, N.M. He was a welder and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and an avid catfish fisherman. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Geneva Bachus of Odessa; daughter, Carolyn Jean Kermicle of Odessa; grandson, Robert Weston Barnard of Odessa; and three great-grandchildren, Ty Weston and Chelsea and Dustin Barnard, all of Odessa. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Marcela Hernandez, 75, of Odessa died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999. She was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Van Horn and moved to Odessa in 1948 from Colorado City. She married Enrique Hernandez in July of 1953 and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband Enrique Hernandez of Odessa; daughters, Sally Hendrix and Sarah Rojo and her husband, Raul, all of Odessa; sons, Richard Hernandez and wife, Rosie, and Robert Hernandez and wife, Carmen, all of Alvin; a sister, Locadia Navarette of Odessa; brother, Daniel Herrera of Odessa; half-sister, Nela Jo Morris of Odessa. Eight grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive her. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez, celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Bernice Huckeba, 82, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 1999, at her residence. Mrs. Huckeba was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Blair, Okla. She married Charley Huckeba in 1937 and they moved to Odessa in 1947. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1976. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Bernice's love for God and family were admired by all who knew her. Her example of pure love and family value has been instilled in all of us and will live within us for eternity. Those who knew her will be forever richer in life. She was a very Godly, thoughtful and kind person who always opened her arms and her home to all. She never met a stranger and will be cherished and missed by her family and friends. Our memories of her will be forever treasured. She is survived by three sons, Charles R. Huckeba of Odessa, Morris D. Huckeba of Carlsbad, N.M., and Weldon W. Huckeba of Abilene; six grandchildren, Debbie L. McCollum, Sharon Trout, Cindy Christensen, Stacie A. Huckeba, Brian Hamilton and W. Hunter Huckeba; and six great-grandchildren. Public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ernest L. Easley officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Randy William Nelson ODESSA -- Randy Nelson, 54, loving husband, father, grandfather, and son passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, at his home in Odessa with his family by his side. Randy William Nelson was born Aug. 6, 1945, in Kenmare, N.D., to Herman M. and lnez L. (Judkins) Nelson. He was raised and educated in Flaxton, N.D., where he graduated from Flaxton High School in 1963. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Norfolk, Va., from 1966 to 1968 as a member of the 3rd Regimen and was honorably discharged at the completion of his tour as a corporal. He was united in marriage with Sharon K. Grover in Sisseton, S.D., on July 18, 1969. He attended college at North Dakota State University-Bottineau Branch and Institute of Foresty in Bottineau, N.D., before attending and graduating from Dickinson, N.D., State University in 1972 with a degree in Secondary Education. He taught and coached in Columbus, N.D., White Shield, N.D., and Ray, N.D., before returning to the oilfield in 1977 in Williston, N.D., and finally, Odessa in 1991. He enjoyed a number of activities during the course of his life including fishing, hunting and golfing. His fondest memories were of landmark family occasions including wedding anniversaries, the college graduations of his sons and their wives, and the birth of his newest grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon; his son, Chad and his wife, Annabel, of San Angelo and their children, Lee and Jaelyn; his son, Shawn and his wife, Katherine, of Canyon Lake; his brothers, Robert E. Nelson of Odessa and James M. and Arlene Nelson of Ramona, Calif.; his mother, Inez L. Nelson of Ramona, Calif.; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Roger and Karen Nelson of Griffin, Ga., Brad and Mary Lou Grover of Greensville, Ga., Jerry and Juanita Grover of Hogeye, Ark., and Ted and Peggy Trondson of Minot, N.D.; honorary grandchildren, Brandon and Autumn Trondson of Minot, N.D.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at Westover Baptist Church followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to Westover Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- William (Bill) Comer Larremore, 76, of Odessa died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999, in Odessa. He was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Winslow, Ark. He was raised and attended school in El Paso before serving aboard the USS Hornet during World War II. He married Cecil Womack June 4, 1947, in El Paso and they moved to Odessa in 1957 where he was a plant supervisor for El Paso Products retiring in 1982. After retirement, he worked as a school crossing guard at Travis Elementary School until last week. Mr. Larremore was preceded in death by his son, Paul William Larremore, Oct. 4, 1969. Survivors include his wife, Cecil Larremore of Odessa; sons, Jay Arthur Larremore and his wife, Shiloh, of Bloomfield, N.M., Terry Larremore of Odessa; daughters, Jeryl Lynn Larremore of Odessa and Helen Larremore Hayter and her husband, Leslie, of Odessa. He also is survived by a sister, Martha Moore of Duncan, S.C.; a brother, Clifford Wallis Larremore of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Craig Martindale officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
