Permian Basin Obituaries

   HOUSTON  -- Raymond J. Donovan, M.D., 73, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999,
   in  Houston.  He  was  born in Staten Island, N.Y., and graduated from
   Xavier  High  School,  New  York, N.Y., and Cornell University Medical
   School.
   
   He  practiced  in  Odessa  from  1978-1983,  then returned to join the
   faculty  of  the  Texas Tech Ob/Gyn Department in 1990. He had a large
   practice  of  devoted  patients  and  was voted Teacher of the Year in
   1999.
   
   He  is survived by his beloved wife, Joan DeNike Donovan; three loving
   sons, Raymond, Thomas and Gerald; and five grandchildren.
   
   He  will  be  deeply  missed  by  his  many  colleagues,  friends  and
   coworkers.
   
   A  memorial  Mass will be held pending arrangements, and the date will
   be announced.
   
   Donations  may  be  made  to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
   Center Memorial Fund for a lectureship to honor Dr. Donovan.
