November 28, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Estelle Davidson, 84, of Odessa, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at her residence. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Rose Hill Cemetery with Brother Luther Whitlow of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. She was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Pontotoc, Miss. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by her sons, Roger Davidson of Loraine, Edward Davidson of Odessa, Troy Davidson of Brownwood; daughter, Marian Stover of Odessa; 17 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Josephine Lois Gant, 84, of Odessa went to be with Jesus on Friday, Nov. 26, 1999. She was born August 31, 1915, in Akin, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Sam Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Josephine moved to Odessa in 1979 from North Little Rock, Ark. She married Lawrence Bonin in 1942. He died in 1950. She then married Harold Theodore Sheldon in 1953. He died in 1986. She then married Lloyd C. Gant in March 1974, he died July 14, 1987. Mrs. Gant was a lifetime member of the VFW auxiliary. She was active in caring for son, Roger who is involved with Special Olympics. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law; Jim and Sandi Bonin of Dearborn, Mich., John Bonin of Whitmore Lake, Mich., Robert and Sharon Bonin of Ore Lake, Mich., and Roger Sheldon of Odessa, daughter and son-in-law; Joana Lee and Ronnie E. Neal, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, John and Clyde Lee both of Mich., and 2 sisters, Birdie Powers of Mich., Ruth Hindman of Illinois, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Wilson Funeral Directors. _________________________________________________________________ CROCKETT -- Edna Mae Daniel Richerson, 88, of Crockett, Houston County, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at East Texas Medical Center. She was born Nov. 21, 1910, in Yellow Pine, La. Mrs. Richerson had lived in Houston County for the past 73 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Edna Daniel Richerson was preceded in death by husbands, Awtrey Daniel and Jesse Richerson. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Laura Peterson; a daughter, Audrey Millican; sister, Augusta Rains; grandson, Stephen Wayne Miller; and a granddaughter, Barbara Ann Casley. Survivors include her daughters, Bebe and husband James "Buster" Bynum of Creek Community, Margie and husband Curtis Miller of Odessa, Barbara and husband Bob Atkinson of Liberty and Ruth and husband John Corley of Midway; sister, Margaret Thompson of Alto; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special dear friend Mrs. Evelyn Christian. Pallbearers were to be her grandsons, James Robert Bynum, Bobby Atkinson, Ricky McKinney, Randy Corley, Jimmy Millican, Melvin Millican, Gary Millican, Darrell Miller and Lawrence "Dusty" Miller. _________________________________________________________________ Sara Ruse ODESSA -- Sara Ruse was born on December 24, 1927, in Troup, Texas. She graduated from high school in Troup in May 1945 and was married to Carl Robert Ruse Sr. on December 29, 1945. Sara was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Gladys Tomme, her brother Marshall Tomme Jr., and her sister Jane Pinkerton. Sara and Carl moved to Odessa in September of 1946 from Wichita Falls. Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Robert Ruse Sr., three sons, Bob Ruse of Walla Walla Washington, David and Bill Ruse of Odessa, and her daughter Carol Ann Pinkerton of Odessa. She had eight grandsons and three granddaughters. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, November 29th at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Bruce Troy of Second Baptist Church will be officiating. Sara accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior when she was eight years old. She was an active Christian in the Baptist Denomination the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker who loved the Lord and her family. Having seen all four of her children accept Jesus as their Savior, Sara went to be with the Lord on November 27, 1999, as successful as a mother and wife could be.
