December 09, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Robert Hall Jr. was born April 22, 1929, in Honey Grove to Robert and Earsie Hall. He passed away Dec. 5, 1999, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Also preceding him in death were five brothers, Earl Ray Lincoln, C.D. Lincoln, BerneIl Lincoln, John Lincoln and Frank Allen; one sister, Ruby Herdon; and his stepfather, Wesley Lincoln. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Blackshear School Auditorium with the Rev. H.L. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. A wake will be said from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home. Mr. Hall was a bartender for the Odessa Country Club for 45 years and also worked at Red Rooster Inn. Survivors include his companion, Joy McGee of Odessa; sons, Haywarth Jones and Robert Hall III, both of Dallas; his daughters, Rasallenna Hall Wesley of Dallas, Vontreece Hall of Odessa and Connie Battee of Eden, Minn.; one sister, Jessie Mae Dudley of Mount Pleasant; four brothers, Bobby Lincoln of Virginia Beach, Va., Bernis Lincoln of Odessa, Aron "Dick" Lincoln of Denver, Colo., and R.A. Lincoln of Tampa Bay, Fla.; four "special" daughters, Charlene McGuffey of Muskegon, Mich., Debbie Thomas, Sabrina Jones and Michelle Jones, all of Odessa; one "special" son, Jerel Henderson of Abilene; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Augustine Barrera, Archie Roilie, Jeff Pollard, Welton Blaylock, Curtis Robinson and Lester Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers and friends. Services entrusted to Martinez Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Virgil "Nig" Tannehill, 70, of Odessa died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at his residence. Public visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Payne, Okla. He married Edith Whitt Jan. 3, 1949, in Dare, Okla. Mr. Tannehill moved to Odessa in 1951 from Oklahoma. He had worked as a roughneck, driller and shop mechanic for A.W. Thompson Inc. for 26 years until his retirement in 1977. Her never met a stranger. He loved to fish, write poetry and could fix anything. He was preceded in death by his brother, Arron Tannehill. Survivors include his wife, Edith Tannehill of Odessa; daughters, Patricia Crawford of Gainesville, Mo., and Loretta Parr of Odessa; brothers, Eugene Tannehill, Donald Tannehill, Lewis Tannehill, all of Lindsay, Okla., and Joy Tannehill of Chickasha, Okla.; sister, Helen Ruth Badertscher of Chickasha, Okla.; four grandchildren, Chad and Brian Crawford, Amy Gonzalez and Erin Parr; and four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle, Evan and Kirsten.
