December 14, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Manuel M. Fierro was born June 17, 1917, in El Paso, to Juan and Felipa Fierro. He passed away Dec. 10, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Tate of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Fierro came to Odessa in 1962, and was a lead man with El Paso Products. Survivors include his wife Nellie R. Fierro of Odessa; his son, Manuel Fierro Jr. of Spokane, Wash.; daughters, Sally Ponce of Torrance, Calif., Cynthia Collucci of Sun Valley, Calif., and Vicky Telles of Deming, N.M.; sisters, Mary Sanchez and Becky Carmona; brothers, Reynaldo Fierro, Tommy Fierro and Hepolito Fierro; 37 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. _________________________________________________________________ Donald Lee Gilliam ODESSA -- The gates of Heaven were opened for Donald Lee Gilliam Dec. 11, 1999, as he passed from this life to be with Jesus his Lord. He was born in McCamey, March 21, 1942, and was reared in Notrees, moving to Odessa in 1964. He served with the Army from 1965 to 1971 and retired from TOTCO as an instrument technician in 1996. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Gilliam, in 1977. Survivors include his mother, Maxine Gilliam of Odessa; sister, Karon Brown and husband, Fred, of Midland; brother, Wesley Gilliam of Odessa; niece, Shelley Warren and husband, Alan; and great niece and nephew, Hannah and Hillin. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Rev. A. Dean Kelm officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. "Bill" Tucker, 90, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord Dec. 11, 1999, after a long illness. He was born Nov. 10, 1909, in Midland. He graduated high school in Midland. Bill was an Army veteran of World War II. He came to Odessa in 1943 from Fort Lee, Pa. Bill was owner of Tucker Contracting Trucking Co. He retired in 1969. He was always active with his daughter and grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors are his daughter, Roxie Tacker of Odessa; sisters, June Fisher of Utopia and Dot Jackson of Arkansas; two grandchildren, Rochelle Jones of Odessa and Daniealle Bailey of LaPorte. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Tucker; his wife, Opal Tucker; and brother, Jot Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are H.C. Whitmire and Ray Canaster.
