December 18, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Eddie Matthews, loving father and best friend. He was born Nov. 22, 1935, in Georgetown and went to be with our heavenly Father Dec. 16, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, where he fought for his life. Eddie married Joyce Sadberry, Dec. 20, 1955. They resided in Odessa, where he worked in the oilfields and later in construction, where he owned his own paving company. He was preceded in death by his father, E. B. Matthews; mother, Opal Matthews; and grandson, Jonathan Wuensh. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Matthews of Odessa; daughters, Wana York and husband, Russell, of Houston and Theresa Matthews of Odessa; brother, George Talbot of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren, Cody Matthews and wife, Amber, Summer Brooks, Zachary Wuensh, Mica Vincient and Morgan York and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Revs. David Henry and Terry Wright officiating. (www.wilsonfuneral.com) _________________________________________________________________ Frankie Nell Daniel Taylor GRAND PRAIRIE -- Frankie Nell Daniel Taylor, 84, a resident of Grand Prairie for 55 years, passed away Dec. 16, 1999. Frankie was born July 11, 1915, in Waldo, Ark. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Southland Memorial Park. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Bernadette Taylor of Ovilla; stepson and wife, Hollis Dale and Shirley Taylor of Alex, Okla.; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gary Newsom of Odessa; brother, Fred Daniel of Waldo, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials can be made to Visiting Nurses Association of Dallas.
