December 19, 1999 Permian Basin Obituaries _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- Agapito "Pete" Renteria, 65, of Odessa passed away Saturday Dec. 17, 1999 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Carlsbad, N.M. Pete came to Odessa in 1968 from Pecos. He worked in the oilfield for many years. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovas Witness. Mr. Renteria loved farming. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Elder Mike Salgado will give a talk and prayer Sunday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Survivors include his wife, Agustina G. Renteria of Odessa; sons, Ricky Renteria of Georgetown, Ismael Renteria of Odessa and Armando Renteria of Dallas; daughters, Maria Renteria and Virginia Beseril, both of Odessa; brothers, Seledonio Renteria of Pecos and Manuel Renteria, Benino Renteria, Cirilo Renteria and Efrin Renteria, all of Odessa; sisters, Pifania Marquez and Cleta Rodriquez, both of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA -- David Wayne Love, 48, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born October 9, 1951 in Sweetwater, Texas. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ. Roy Smalling will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home. David graduated from Lubbock Christian University and held a Masters Degree from University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He married Jana Rogers Nov. 22, 1975, in Lubbock. He was a longtime resident of Odessa. David was a teacher in the Ector County School District, teaching 11 years at Odessa High, eight years at Bonham Jr. High, and one and a half years at Permian High School. He was a district board member and local chapter president of the Texas Classroom Teachers Association. He was presented the College Board Award. He taught and participated in many Calculus, Pre-cal, and Algebra workshops around the country, along with grading the the AP Calculus Exam for three years. He was also a Deacon at Sixth & Jackson Church of Christ. He preached in Laredo and Garden City. Survivors include his wife, Jana Love of Odessa; three sons, David Love Jr., Darin Lee Love and Jay Dustin Love, all of Odessa; his parents, Bill and Anita Love of Odessa; a brother, Jerry Love of Abilene; two sisters, Kathy James and Debra Goodheer, both of Abilene; mother- and father-in !aw, Jay and Jo Rogers of Lubbock; brother-in-law, Jay Don Rogers of Vancover, British Columbia, Canada; and a sister-in-law, Judie Reed of Lubbock. The family will have visitation at Odessa Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. today.
