January 25, 2000 Permian Basin Death Notices Sara DeLaRosa PECOS — Sara Rose DeLaRosa, 56, of Pecos, an inventory clerk, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at West Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Carreon officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. She was born in Dyersburg, Tenn., and had lived in Pecos for three years. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Husband, Edmundo DeLaRosa of Pecos; son, Edmundo DeLaRosa Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Ana Concio of Sacramento, Calif.; brother, Frank Rose of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. Charles Franklin BOGATA — Charles E. (Chuck) Franklin, 74, of Paris, Texas, a retired teacher, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. Services were held Monday at the Pavilion of Bogata Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Arrangements were by Wood Funeral Home. He was born in Lubbock. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Louise Franklin of Paris, Texas; son, David Franklin of Odessa; sisters, Russie McConnel and Billie Bishop, both of Bogata; stepdaughters, Diann Arnold of San Antonio and Tammy Martin of Clarksville; stepsons, Gary Allen of Trenton and Phillip Allen of Clarksville; three grandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren. William Lackey MIDLAND — William Jefferson Lackey, 79, of Midland, a retired carpenter, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Memorial Hospital & Medical Center. Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Ellis Funeral Home with the Revs. Dennis Bode and Gale Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home. He was born in Sayre, Okla., and moved to Midland in 1927. SURVIVORS: Sons, Kenneth Roy Lackey of Big Spring and Richard Shane Lackey of Midland; brother, Walter E. "Gene" Lackey of Midland; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Johnie Lanier COLEMAN — Johnie Lee Lindeman Lanier, 83, of Coleman died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Coleman County Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Helen McIver officiating. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home. She was born in Thrall and was a longtime resident of Coleman. She was Methodist. SURVIVORS: Nephews, Lonnie Jackson of Coleman, Billy D. Lindeman of Laramie, Wyo., John Lindeman of Douglas, Wyo., David Lindeman of Yucaipa, Calif., and Charles Bollinger of Kingman, Ariz.; nieces, Fay Roberts of Odessa, Beth Sweiven of San Marcos and Jean Strickland of Pico Rivera, Calif.; and several great-nephews and great-nieces. Mattie Scott HAMLIN — Mattie Inez Scott, 86, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Jan. 18, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services were held Thursday at Central Baptist Church with the Revs. James Brigham and Travis Crutchfield officiating. Burial was in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were by Foster-Adams Funeral Home. She was born in Taylor County and moved to Odessa in 1999 from Hamlin. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Daughters, Wanda Whitaker and Mary Lou Nelson, both of Odessa; sons, Wayne Scott and Edwin Scott, both of Hamlin; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Joy Woodard SEMINOLE — Joy Woodard, 64, of Seminole, a hospital housekeeper, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at Convenant Medical Center in Lubbock after an illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Church of Christ with Leo Copeland officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County Cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home. She was born in Lamesa and moved to Seminole in 1964 from there. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
