She was born in Oscar and had lived in Stanton for 78 years. She was a member of the Stanton Church of Christ. Luis Herrera COAHOMA — Luis R. Herrera, 73, of Coahoma died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at a local hospital. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Carmen Mendias MARFA — Carmen Ortega Mendias, 88, of Marfa, a retired housekeeper, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at an Alpine medical center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Merced Cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home. She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and was a longtime resident of Marfa. She was Catholic. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Floreine Palmer ODESSA — Floreine Delores Palmer, 85, of Odessa, a retired employee of El Paso Products, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Trout officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Davidson Cemetery in Strawn. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. She was born in Thurber and moved to Odessa in 1952 from Breckenridge. She was Methodist. Parker, 85, of Andrews, a retired field superintendent, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000, at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Golden officiating. Burial will be at Andrews West Cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home. He was born in McCulloch County and moved to Andrews from Seminole in 1947. He was Baptist.
