February 20, 2000 Permian Basin Death Notices Pedro Castaneda FORT STOCKTON — Pedro "Peter" Castaneda, 33, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at his home. Mass was celebrated Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Burial was at St. Agnes Cemetery. He was born in Fort Stockton. Survivors: Wife, Yolanda Castaneda, of Fort Stockton; parents, David and Elena Castaneda, of Fort Stockton; son, Pedro Castaneda Jr.; daughter, Jasmine Castaneda; sisters, Margarita Sanchez, of Odessa, Josie Carrasco, of Odessa, and Gloria Castaneda, of San Antonio; brothers, David Castaneda, of Yuma, Ariz., Jorge Castaneda, of San Antonio, and Jamie Castaneda, of Fort Stockton. Gladys Mae Ledbetter ODESSA — Gladys Mae Ledbetter, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at her home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Witherspoon officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Gunsight Cemetery, Stephens County. She was born April 12, 1910 in Pratt, Mo. She moved to Odessa in 1943. She was a member of University Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.R. Ledbetter. Survivors: Nephews, Larry Pruett, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jerry Pruett, of Bloomfield, Conn. Maybell Mitchell ODESSA — Maybell Mitchell, 63, a retired dietician at Medical Center Hospital, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Mission Baptist Church with the Rev. R.T. McNeil officiating. Interment will follow in Ector County Cemetery. Survivors: Husband, Huey Mitchell Jr.; son, Eric Mitchell; daughters, Felecia Mitchell Debouse and Letricia Ann Mitchell; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Viola Sanchez ODESSA — Viola Gallegos Sanchez, 69, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Midland Memorial Hospital. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kermit. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. She was a 49-year resident of Kermit. Survivors: Mother, Estephana Gallegos; sons, Julian Sanchez Jr., George M.
