March 17, 2000 Permian Basin Death Notices Luciano Holguin IMPERIAL — Luciano Holguin, 93, of Imperial died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, in Odessa. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Imperial Community Center. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Imperial Community Center. Burial will be at Imperial Cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. He was born in El Mulato, Mexico. SURVIVORS: Sons, Henry Holguin, Ciprano Holguin and Luciano Holguin Jr., all of Odessa, Ramon Holguin and Fred Holguin, both of Forsan, and Salvador Holguin Sr. of McCamey; daughters, Senaida Aranda of Lovington, N.M., and Margaret Acosta of Imperial; 43 grandchildren; and 85 great-grandchildren. Clara Johnson LEVELLAND — Clara M. "Peggy" Johnson, 87, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services were held Friday, March 10, 2000, at Levelland Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Howe officiating. Arrangements were by George C. Price Funeral Home. She was born in Merkel and moved to Odessa in 1988 from Levelland. She was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Sons, Merle Johnson of Odessa and Butch Johnson of Mertson; sister, Frances Thomas of Lyons, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Ernest Lang ODESSA — Ernest F. Lang, 89, of Odessa, a retired baker, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Deerings Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Betty Yocham officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. He was born in Ralston, Okla., and moved to Odessa in February from Lake Texoma. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist. SURVIVORS: Wife, Treca J. Lang of Odessa; son, Dennis R. Lang of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Ramon Rivera EL PASO — Ramon Rivera, 67, of Van Horn died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Big Spring. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time today at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Arrangements by Myers and Smith Funeral Home. He was born in Alpine and had been a resident of Van Horn for eight years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War. He was Methodist.
