                                Luther Bell
   ODESSA — Luther Bell, 59, of Odessa, a retired truck driver, died
            Friday, March 17, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery with
      the Rev. David Henry officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly
                               Funeral Home.
   He was born in Big Spring and has been a longtime resident of Odessa.
                          He was an Army veteran.
        SURVIVORS: Wife, Becky Bell of Odessa; sons, Emmitt Bell of
    Gardendale, Pete Bell of Odessa and Bob Bell of Houston; daughters,
    Joyce Ruiz of Midland and Bonnie Lynn Burchell of Odessa; stepsons,
    James Neal and Robert Neal, both of Odessa; stepdaughter, Sandra Ann
    Webb of Springtown; mother, Mildred Bell of Odessa; brothers, Thomas
   Lee Bell of Mira Loma, Calif., and Marvin Eugene Bell of San Antonio;
      sister, Terrie Lynn Hooper of Big Spring; and 16 grandchildren.
                                      
                             Gregoria Gonzales
   FORT STOCTON — Gregoria Nunez Gonzales, 78, of Fort Stockton died
                Thursday, March 16, 2000, in Fort Stockton.
   Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes Catholic Church
   with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
     Sunday at Fort Stockton Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph
           Cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
     She was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. She was
                                 Catholic.
      SURVIVORS: Son, Roy N. Gonzales of El Paso; daughters, Margarita
     Barrera, Maria R. Gonzales and Josephine N. Gonzales, all of Fort
    Stockton; brothers, Manuel Nunez, A.R. Nunez and Chon Nunez, all of
    Fort Stockton, and David Nunez and Cosme Nunez, both of Alamogordo,
       N.M.; sisters, Cruz Arcides of Chino, Calif., Alicia Jaques of
    Abilene, and Juliana Mesa, Sara Ureta and Cleo Castello, all of Fort
         Stockton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Maria Nunez
      ODESSA — Maria Victoria Nunez, infant daughter of David and
   Tomasa Olivas-Nunez of Odessa, died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Medical
                              Center Hospital.
    Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rose Hill Cemetery.
                   Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
                          She was born in Odessa.
     SURVIVORS: Parents; brother, David Alberto Anchondo of Odessa; and
                   grandmother, Gloria Olivas of Odessa.
                                      
                                Gary Shastid
     GOLDEN VALLEY, Ariz. — Gary J. Shastid, 49, of Golden Valley,
   Ariz., a truck driver, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, in Kingman, Ariz.
     Services were Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Golden Valley VFW Post
           2555. Arrangements were by Sutton’s Funeral Home.
   He was born in Houma, La. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam
                                    War.
   SURVIVORS: Wife, Susan Gott of Golden Valley, Ariz.; son, John Shastid
   of Pittsburg, Texas; stepdaughter, Sara Gott of Golden Valley, Ariz.;
    and brothers, Kevin Shastid of Pittsburg and Clyde Shastid of Hughes
                                  Springs.
                                      
                               Charles Smart
    IRAAN — Charles Smart, 66, of Iraan, a retired employee of the
      City of Iraan, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at his residence.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Restland Cemetery with
      the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box
                           Funeral Home of Crane.
     He was born in Callihan County and had been a resident since 1975.
   SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sherry L. Ramsey of Thibodaux, La., and Charissa
       Varbel of Maryhill, N.M., brother, Billy Smart of Iraan; nine
                grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Elzy Griffis
   ODESSA — Elzy Griffis, 91, of Odessa died Friday, March 17, 2000,
                          at a local nursing home.
               Services are pending with Pipkin Funeral Home.
