Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnett officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven North Memorial Park. Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home. He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and moved to Midland in 1949. SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary "Nena" Gutierrez of Midland; son, Ernest Gutierrez of Midland; daughters, Teresa Gutierrez, Dora Velasco and Margaret Pallanes, all of Midland, and Kathy Gutierrez of Dumas; brother, Donaciano "Chano" Gutierrez of Midland; sisters, Arminda Gutierrez of Ojinaga, Mexico, Teresa Rangel and Zoila Reina Arsiaga, both of Midland; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Vernon Melton ANDREWS — Vernon C. "Buddy" Melton, 87, of Hobbs, N.M., a retired pumper, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at Columbia Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, N.M. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Andrews Church of Christ with Jerry Fowler and Les McGalliard officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old Cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home. He was born in Gatesville and moved to Hobbs, N.M., from Andrews in 1998. He was a member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Wife, Dorothy Melton of Hobbs; brother, Cecil Melton of Houston; sister, Rachel Patterson of Abilene; and one grandchild. Velma Motley BOWIE — Velma Winsett Motley, 85, of Odessa, a retired cook, died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Avalon Place Nursing Home. Services were Saturday at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Chapel in Bowie with Loyd K. Morris officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home. She was born in Bowie and moved to Odessa 17 years ago from Bowie. She was a member of the Church of Christ. SURVIVORS: Brother, Jack W. Bell of Odessa. Billy Turner ODESSA — Billy Carroll Turner, 58, of Odessa, a branch manager for Motion Industries, died Friday, May 12, 2000, in Odessa. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrange-ments by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. He was born in Brady and moved to Odessa in 1984 from Fort Worth.
