Rita Martinez FORT STOCKTON Rita Martinez, 69, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Avalon Nursing Home. Thurman Harold McLemore, 73, of Paris, Texas, a retired employee of Phillips Petroleum Company and Odessa College instructor, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at St. Josephs Hospital in Paris. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Edwin D. Bernard officiating. Burial will be at Fort Towson Cemetery in Fort Towson, Okla. Arrangements by Miller & Miller Funeral Home. He was born in Rotan and was a resident of Paris since 1993. He was Presbyterian. SURVIVORS: Wife, Doris McLemore of Paris; son, Phillip N. McLemore of Dallas; sister, Siddie Stewart of Lubbock; and one stepgrandson. Virgil Meek CARLSBAD, N.M. Virgil L. Meek, 77, of Carlsbad, N.M., retired owner and operator of Bond Ice Company, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with the Rev. Erwin Van Essen officiating. Arrangements by West Funeral Home. She was born in Orange Grove and had lived in Monahans since 1950. She was Lutheran.
