      ODESSA Charles L. "Chuck" Garza, 65, of Odessa, a retired truck
     driver, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
                                      
       Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial
            Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
                                      
   He was born in Bandera and had been a resident of Odessa for 45 years.
                                      
     SURVIVORS: Daughters, Debbie Proctor of Odessa and Betty Thomas of
   Brighton, Colo.; sons, Charlie Garza Jr. of Midland and Danny Garza of
                     Abilene; and eight grandchildren.
                                      
                               Federico Ochoa
                                      
    ODESSA Federico Ochoa, 59, of Odessa, a self-employed photographer,
              died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, at his residence.
                                      
    Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with
      the Rev. Joel Amaro officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill
               Cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
                                      
                           He was born in Mexico.
                                      
    SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Ochoa of Odessa; daughter, Luz Maria Valencia
   of Odessa; brothers, Jorge A. Ochoa and Arturo Ochoa, both of Mexico,
   Elias S. Hernandez of Oklahoma; Juan Hernandez of Houston and Enrique
   Ochoa of Odessa; sisters, Alicia Weissel of Oklahoma, Arcelia Tullo of
     Tyler, Guadalupe Ortiz of Odessa and Mariana Carrasco of Freeport;
                four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
                                      
                                 James Rush
                                      
     ODESSA James B. Rush, 74, of Odessa, retired employee of Phillips
    Petroleum Company, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at Medical Center
                                 Hospital.
                                      
    Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. today at St. Marys Catholic Church
      with the Rev. Frances Frey officiating. Burial will be at Sunset
    Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
                                      
    He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va. He was an Army veteran of World War
                            II. He was Catholic.
                                      
     SURVIVORS: Wife, Frankie Lou Gray Rush of Odessa; daughters, Kathy
     Lane, Debby Litz and Patty White, all of Odessa; sisters, Eleanor
   Lovelace and Cathy Giddens, both of Marble Falls; four grandchildren;
                        and two great-grandchildren.
                                      
                               Laura Tickner
                                      
    WILSON, Kans. Laura Maxine Tickner, 79, of Odessa, a homemaker, died
             Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Seabury Nursing Center.
                                      
   Services will be at 9 a.m. today at Foster Mortuary. Burial will be at
      St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly
                               Funeral Home.
                                      
              She was born in Wichita, Kan. She was Catholic.
                                      
   SURVIVORS: Nephews, Richard Reeves of Sylvan Grove, Kan., Louis Reeves
        of Garden Grove, Calif., and Robbin Reeves of Wichita, Kan.
                                      
                                John Thomas
                                      
    ODESSA John D. Thomas, 62, of Odessa died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, in
                                  Odessa.
                                      
            Arrangements are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.
