                              Daniel Renteria
                                      
   PECOS Daniel R. Renteria, 70, of Barstow, a retired truck driver, died
      Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.
                                      
     Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Santa Rosa Catholic
   Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Rosary will be said at
      7:30 p.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at
    Barstow Cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home. He was born in
    Barstow and had been a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of
                              the Korean War.
                                      
   SURVIVORS: Daughters, Amalia R. Vasquez and Lydia R. Escobar, both of
     Fontana, Calif., Rebecca R. Rameriz and Yolanda Renteria, both of
   Hacienda Heights, Calif.; mother, Lucia Renteria of El Monte, Calif.;
     brothers, Ruben Renteria of San Jose, Calif., Simon Renteria of La
   Verne, Calif., Raymond Renteria and George Renteria, both of El Monte;
   sisters, Lydia Orona of San Angelo, Frances Castillo of Pecos, Stella
    Usery of Montclair, Calif., Ysabel Renteria of West Covina, Calif.,
             and Angie Cobo of Fontana; and nine grandchildren.
                                      
                               Carmen Sanchez
                                      
   BALMORHEA Carmen Ornelas Sanchez, 84, of Balmorhea, a homemaker, died
        Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.
                                      
   Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ the King Catholic
   Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Rosary will be said at
   7:30 p.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be at
          Balmorhea Cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
                                      
        She was born in Presidio and had been a lifelong resident of
                        Balmorhea. She was Catholic.
                                      
    SURVIVORS: Sons, David Ornelas Sr. and Joe Ornelas Sanchez, both of
    Balmorhea; daughters, Arsilia S. Carrasco and Rosario S. Cervantez,
    both of Balmorhea, and Carmen S. Meras of Odessa; 19 grandchildren;
                        and 34 great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Sonny Silvas
                                      
   ODESSA Sonny Silvas, 21, of Odessa, a salesman, died Monday, Sept. 11,
                             2000, in Seminole.
                                      
    Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Latter Rain Ministries with the
       Rev. Craig De Armond officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill
               Cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
                                      
                           He was born in Odessa.
                                      
     SURVIVORS: Wife, Natalie C. Silvas of Odessa; daughter, Nia Avery
       Silvas of Odessa; parents, Frankie and Celia Silvas and Gloria
       Vasquez, all of Odessa; brother, Frankie Silvas Jr. of Odessa;
    stepbrothers, Chris Gonzales and Johnathan Gonzales, both of Odessa;
    sisters, Britney Silvas, Savanah Silvas, Lisa Sandate, Diana Sandate
   and JoAnn Amber Vasquez, all of Odessa; and grandparents, Celia Lujan,
     Chelo Munoz, Alfredo Silvas Sr. and Claudia Silvas, all of Odessa.

    LUBBOCK Chella Gonzalez, 19, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000,
                       at University Medical Center.

   ODESSA Edna Pearl Hopper, 91, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000,
                              at Avalon Place.
