                                Ramon Aleman
      MIDLAND Ramon Aleman, 34, of Midland, drummer for "Los Hermanos
   Aleman," died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Medical
                                  Center.
   Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe
   Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnett officiating. Rosary will
    be said at 7 p.m. today at Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home Chapel. Burial
     will be at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia Funeral
                                   Home.
              He was born in Durango, Mexico. He was Catholic.
      SURVIVORS: Wife, Patricia Aleman of Midland; sons, Frank Aleman,
      Rodrigo Aleman and Favian Aleman, all of Midland; brothers, Abel
   Aleman, Eduardo Aleman and Felipe Aleman, all of Midland; and sisters,
     Esperanza Aleman, Gloria Bermudez, Maria De Jesus Santos, Socorro
      Reyes, Gerarda Enriquez and Rayo Santos, all of Midland, Aurora
       Salazar and Teresa Aleman, both of Durango, Irma Betancourt of
            Portland, Ore., and Rosalva Aleman of Wichita Falls.
                                      
                                 Edward Cox
      MONAHANS Edward E. Cox, 83, of Monahans, a retired rancher, died
              Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at Monahans Managed Care.
    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Third and Dwight Church of
       Christ with Greg Holly officiating. Burial will be at Monahans
          Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
      He was born in Grady, N.M., and had been a longtime resident of
   Monahans. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member
                          of the Church of Christ.
    SURVIVORS: Wife, Dorothy Cox of Monahans; son, Gene Cox of Monahans;
    daughter, Elizabeth Palmer of Monahans; four grandchildren; and four
                            great-grandchildren.
                                      
                                Rosa Velarde
     MIDLAND Rosa Q. Velarde, 90, of Midland, a homemaker, died Friday,
                   Oct. 13, 2000, in Victorville, Calif.
    Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe
   Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnett officiating. Rosary will
      be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home Chapel.
     Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia
                               Funeral Home.
    She was born in San Carlos, Mexico, and had been a longtime resident
                       of Midland. She was Catholic.
    SURVIVORS: Sons, Elias Velarde Jr. of Midland, Ismael Velarde of San
   Angelo and Arnold Velarde of Victorville; daughter, Olivia Diaz of Las
    Vegas; sister, Esperanza "Opal" Morales of Odessa; 18 grandchildren;
         40 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
                                      
                               Jerry Harkins
   ODESSA Jerry Wayne Harkins, 42, of Odessa, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000,
                                 in Odessa.
      Arrangements are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
                                      
                               Louise Mulder
    ODESSA Louise Mulder, 86, of Odessa, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at
                          Medical Center Hospital.
        Arrangements are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
                                      
                               Clayton Smith
     CRANE Clayton Smith, 73, of Iraan, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2000, at
                  Desert View Manor Nursing Home in Crane.
           Arrangements are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Chapel.
