Injury to a child A 37-year-old Odessa man was in the Ector County jail Saturday on a charge of injury to a child. Bond for Walter Ray Zolyn, 2011 W. 10th St., was set at $2,500. Possession of a controlled substance A 30-year-old Austin woman was in the Ector County jail Saturday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Bond for Liana Jean Gaskin was set at $5,000. Theft 7-Eleven, 1000 N. Grant Ave., reported someone printed out several money orders totalling $13,887 and took them without permission between Sept. 2 and Tuesday. Employees at the store apparently attempted to hide the fact the money orders had been taken, according to police reports. Driving while intoxicated A 38-year-old Odessa man was released Saturday from the Ector County jail after posting bond on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license. Bond for Raymundo Z. Aviles, 1846 Westcliff Road, was set at $6,000. Seth Baker HOBBS, N.M. Seth Baker Jr., 96, of Andrews, a retired cotton gin worker, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Odessa. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home. He was born in Carter, Okla. SURVIVORS: Son, Jerry Baker of Andrews; daughters, Modell Willis of Midland, Wanda Lewis of Utopia, Nell Smith of Bristol, Tenn., and Barbara Blissingame of Vega. Sue Merchant HASKELL Sue Merchant, 68, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, nov. 3, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Willow Cemetery with the Rev. Don Palmer officiating. Arrangements by HoldenMcCauley Funeral Directors. She was born in Erath County and was a 20-year resident of Odessa. SURVIVORS: Husband, H.C.
