Graveside services will be at Easthill Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Zeitler officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home. She was born in Johnson Creek, Wis. She lived in Midland for 24 years. Owen Gandy ODESSA Owen Charles "Smokey" Gandy, 80, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrange-ments by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. He came to Odessa in 1947 from Blanchard, Okla. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was Baptist. He was retired from Lewis Casing Crews. SURVIVORS: Wife, Jewel Gandy of Odessa; sons, Robert Gandy of Midland, Roland Gandy of Odessa, and O.C. "Chuck" Gandy Jr. of Georgetown; daughter, Barbara Merrill of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; brother, Bill Gandy of New Blaine, Ark.; sisters, Earnestine Hastings of Encino, Calif., Ruby Moon of Elmore City, Okla., Bonnie Burris of Blanchard, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Juan Garcia ODESSA Juan M. Garcia, 86, of Odessa, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ector County Cemetery. Arrange-ments by Martinez Funeral Home. He was a retired florist. He lived in Odessa for 44 years. He was Catholic.
