January 1, 2000 Permian Basin Obituaries GRANDFALLS — Dorothy Louise Kuykendall, 77, of Grandfalls died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Cook officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home. She was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Borger, Okla. She married Phillip Rayburn "Jack" Kuykendall Oct. 21, 1940, in Kilgore. They moved to Grandfalls in 1945 from Gladewater. He preceded her in death March 12, 1982. She was a retired tax assessor for Grandfalls Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandfalls. She was active with Senior Citizens in Grandfalls and Monahans. Survivors include her son, Billy John "Bill" Kuykendall of Odessa; sisters, Maxine Rowin of Monahans, Charline Cook of Gladewater and Patty Lois Valentine of Port Comfort; three granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. _________________________________________________________________ ODESSA — Thelma Francis Tuscana Shrum, 68, of Odessa died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Wes Duckett officiating. Burial will be in Crane Cemetery. She was born March 21, 1931, in Corn City. Mrs. Tuscana was a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her her first huaband, Tony P. Tuscana; and her sisters, Suzie Roberts and Velma Cox. Survivors include her husband, Charles Francis Shrum of Odessa; daughter, Mary Hickman of Odessa; son, James Tuscana of Bandera; brother, Gene Bryan of San Angelo; sisters, Ruby Dietrich of Rockport, Alma Moore of Victoria, Laveda Elliott of Missouri, Mae Elliott of Banning, Calif., and Fannie Bryan of San Angelo; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
